"STOP IT RIGHT NOW!"

Simon's deep voice rumbled throughout the house, leaving not a single person untouched. From the look on his face, it was clear he had hell in his mind. And why wouldn't he? The sight in front of him was not only disgusting but a complete disaster.

In one corner of the house, Carmen stood with her hands tied above her head to a rope that connected her to the fan.

In a different corner, Ronin was held back by two men, while a third man aimed a gun at his temple. Simon noticed Ronin had been shot once in the shoulder, and now blood had soaked a part of his shirt completely. At the top of the stairs, there was a very teary, very distressed little boy, held tightly by another giant-looking man.

Last but not least, Diana was sprawled on the floor on her back, two men pinning her to the ground while a third sat on her chest, almost choking her.

Simon had no choice but to show his displeasure at the sight.

He shook his head and huffed. "Dammit! Let's be honest, this is the sickest thing I have seen in a while. And believe me when I say, I have seen a lot of things in my life. You can't even imagine."

The leader, once shocked at the interruption, frowned, his hand already flying to the gun tucked behind his back. But before he could say anything, he froze when Simon shook his head, clicking his tongue.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you," Simon said calmly, looking at the man as if he hadn't seen anyone so empty-headed. He snapped his fingers twice, and as if waiting for that exact call, dozens of men poured into the house, surrounding everything and everyone, the latest weapons in their hands.

Diana, still sprawled on the floor, leaking tears and cries, looked too shocked and too relieved to form a word. But there was gratitude in her eyes, which caught Simon's attention longer than anything else.

"I told you to stay put, didn't I?" Simon approached her, and as he got closer, the three men hovering over her looked back at their leader, unsure of what to do.

The leader seemed to be in a state of confusion, just like the others. For a moment, it seemed even he didn't know what was happening, why suddenly there were so many men around them, or why they even cared. But then his eyes found Simon's, and he growled.

"Who the fuck are you?" the leader snarled, finally grabbing his gun and aiming it directly at Simon. "If you have any love for that pretty face of yours, you'll ask your men to leave right away, or else—"

"Else what?" Simon asked, looking amused. He slid his hands into his pockets, not afraid in the least. "You'll shoot me? Or you'll shoot her?" He gestured with his eyes at Diana. "Or maybe him?" He pointed at Ronin before finally turning to let his gaze rest on Carmen. "Or well, maybe her. The one and only."

Carmen pursed her lips tightly, not sure what to do, what to say, or how to react. Nothing seemed clear to her mind. But one thing was clear, though. Simon was not there to cause any trouble this time. He was there to help. Right?

"No!" The leader sneered. "I'll shoot all of you. I don't care who you are, and I don't care how much blood spills from my hands today. I have direct orders to finish off this family anyway. And trust me when I say this, I don't fucking mind spilling more."

Simon laughed at that. He couldn't help himself, and he laughed so hard that the men who came with him started to chuckle too.

The leader looked confused as hell, and so did his men. Ronin frowned harder, unable to understand Simon's reaction either.

"Show him," Simon ordered one of his men once he was done laughing.

One of his men took out a tablet from his bag, tapped a few times, and then turned around the screen so everyone could watch it.

At first, the leader appeared annoyed, assured that there was nothing anyone could show him that would change his mind. But then, as he saw the screen, he instantly froze, his eyes widening to the size of saucers. He rushed to the man holding the screen and stared at it as long as he could.

"Boss—" he started to say, still shocked, when the person appearing on the screen cut him off, his voice strained.

"Just do as he says."

When Diana heard the voice and recognized it, she instantly snapped her head towards the leader and the screen in his hands. Her mouth opened, but nothing came out. She needed to hear it again to be sure.

"But—"

"No fucking but, Mark. Just do it. Fuck, or else I'm screwed."

The man who had been sitting on Diana's chest and the ones who had pinned her down to the floor immediately jumped away, not sure what to do.

Diana sat up, coughing and feeling her neck with her fingers. "Is that—"

Before she could finish, Simon yanked the tablet from the leader's hands and walked over to where Diana sat on the floor.

"Hopefully, this makes up for the overall delay." He said with his usual smirk and she had no choice but to shake her head.

He offered her an arm, and she gladly took it, standing back up.

When she felt like she could manage on her own, she accepted the tablet and almost laughed at what she saw on the screen.

On the screen, Lewis Ladder sat in the same room he had been in when she last spoke with him a few minutes ago. But this time, he wasn't alone. Viper, one of Simon's most trusted men, and another man whose name she hadn't caught, had Lewis at gunpoint. They might have also beaten him a little, as one side of Lewis's face was badly bruised and seemed to be on the verge of swelling.

Diana shook her head, scoffing. "Oh, how the tables have turned."
