Episode 42: "Forever, Finally"

The dinner table still echoed with laughter as Taekook leaned back on the couch, their bellies full and hearts lighter than ever. The soft clinking of dishes being cleaned in the kitchen was replaced by a low thrum of guitar strings. Yoongi, holding his acoustic guitar, walked out into the softly lit living room.

Jimin blinked. "Yoongi? What's going on?"

Yoongi didn’t answer immediately. He simply gave Jimin a soft smile and sat down on the ottoman near the center rug. His fingers strummed the strings with practiced ease before his deep, husky voice filled the room.

"You walked into my shadows, Lit a candle in the dark. Taught my heart to feel again, With nothing but your spark.

You smile like dawn breaking, And cry like the rain I need, You stayed when I pushed you away, You're the calm in which I breathe."

Jimin’s hand flew to his mouth, his eyes wide and shimmering with tears. He recognized every word—not from any old love song, but from memories, from their shared moments, from the soul of their journey together.

Yoongi’s gaze never left him, even as he sang the chorus:

"You're the verse I never wrote, The melody in my chest, You’re the yes in my silence, The answer to my rest. So stay, my brightest star, Let me love you right, Let’s stop searching, here we are— My forever starts tonight."

As the last chord faded into silence, Jimin rushed forward, kneeling down in front of Yoongi and wrapping his arms tightly around his waist. His shoulders shook with quiet sobs.

"Hyung..." he whispered, voice choked, "this is the most beautiful thing anyone's ever done for me. I—I don’t even have words."

Yoongi simply placed his hand on Jimin’s head, ruffling his hair lovingly. "You don’t need words. You’re my inspiration, Jimin."

Taehyung and Jungkook stood and began clapping dramatically.

"The CUTEST couple in Korea!" Taehyung cried.

"Actually, In the whole damn world!" Jungkook added, grinning wide.

Jimin turned around with a blush, sniffling. "Yah, and you two are the worst."

"Worst? We just witnessed a live proposal through music! That’s historic," Taehyung teased.

Later that night, the apartment quieted. The city lights from Seoul glimmered beyond the windowpane. Jimin sat cross-legged on the couch, his fingers tracing the edges of a cushion. He looked up when he heard Yoongi’s soft footsteps returning from the bedroom.

Yoongi walked over with a small black velvet box in his hand. No grand speeches, no violin in the background—just his calm, sincere presence. He sat beside Jimin, took his hand gently, and placed the box in it.

Jimin looked at the box, then at Yoongi, his heart racing.

"I didn’t write a fancy poem for this one," Yoongi said quietly. "No big gestures. Just... this."

Jimin opened the box slowly.

A simple silver band with a delicate design—a music note carved along one side and a tiny moonstone embedded in the center.

Yoongi laced their fingers together and looked into Jimin’s eyes. "Be mine. Officially. Not just now… but forever."

Jimin's vision blurred instantly. The tears spilled, warm and soft, running down his cheeks. He didn’t even respond with words at first—just launched himself into Yoongi’s arms and held him so tight it was like he was afraid Yoongi would disappear.

Then, against the shell of Yoongi’s ear, he whispered, "Yes. Always."

Yoongi exhaled shakily and kissed the side of his head. "You just made me the happiest man alive, Park Jimin."

They stayed there for a long time, wrapped in each other’s arms, the weight of the past finally falling away. Everything had led to this peaceful, warm moment—two hearts finally finding home.

Later, they curled up on the couch, Jimin’s head on Yoongi’s chest, listening to the soft beat of his heart. The ring now snugly rested on Jimin’s finger, glinting under the ambient light.

"You think it’s too simple?" Yoongi asked softly.

Jimin lifted his hand and admired the ring. "It’s perfect. Just like you."

Yoongi chuckled. "I’m far from perfect."

"Perfect for me, that's all I want..." Jimin corrected.

Later that night, after everyone had left and they were wrapped in blankets on the couch, Jimin fell asleep in Yoongi’s arms.

As the night grew deeper, and the stars outside glittered silently, Yoongi’s phone buzzed on the coffee table.

He frowned, seeing the unknown number.

"Who calls this late?" Jimin mumbled sleepily.

Yoongi kissed his forehead and gently shifted to grab the phone.

He answered, and the voice on the other end made him freeze.

His expression darkened slightly, confusion and concern knitting his brow.

"What...? Are you sure? How did this happen...?"

Jimin lifted his head slowly, his drowsiness vanishing. "Yoongi... who is it?"

Yoongi didn’t answer immediately. He looked at Jimin, a strange seriousness settling into his features.

"I... I need to go out for a bit. Something’s come up."

Jimin sat up straight. "What? What happened?"

Yoongi hesitated, then forced a small smile.

"It’s nothing serious. I’ll explain everything soon. Just wait for me."

Jimin nodded slowly, his heart beating a little faster. He trusted Yoongi—but something about the way he said that last sentence sent a chill down his spine.

Yoongi grabbed his coat, gave Jimin one last kiss on the forehead, and stepped out into the night.

The door clicked shut.

Jimin stared at it.

Something had changed.
