Chapter 30

The night had fallen over the bustling city, and the concert hall was slowly emptying. J-Hope, whose real name was Hoseok, stood near the dimly lit backstage area, the vibrant buzz of the crowd fading into the quiet of the venue. His heart was heavy yet light at the same time, a complex mixture of emotions swirling within him.

He had just witnessed Yoongi and Jimin leaving together, their figures slowly fading into the night. It wasn't jealousy or bitterness that filled Hoseok's heart; rather, it was an ache he couldn't quite name.

In his mind, he replayed moments from the past, his thoughts tinged with guilt and self-blame.

"It's really good for him that he moved on," Hoseok thought, his lips forming a faint, bittersweet smile. "He deserves someone better than me. I was never the reason for his happiness-I only brought him pain. Now he's found someone who makes him smile, and that's all I ever wanted for him. To be happy."

Despite his happiness for Yoongi, Hoseok couldn't help but feel a pang of loneliness, a sharp reminder of the void in his own heart.

Brushing those thoughts aside, he turned and walked toward his vanity, hoping to distract himself. The mirror reflected a version of him that fans adored-bright, charismatic, full of energy. But beneath that gleaming exterior, Hoseok felt the exhaustion of wearing his public persona day after day.

The corridors backstage were almost silent now, the earlier cacophony of staff and fans reduced to faint echoes. Hoseok paused near his vanity, leaning on the edge of the table as he exhaled deeply. His fingers toyed with a stray makeup brush, his mind wandering to thoughts he couldn't suppress.

"Is it always going to be like this?" he wondered. "Surrounded by people but still feeling alone?"

Just as he was about to sit and start removing his makeup, a sudden movement in the corner of his eye caught his attention. A girl had rushed past him, her hurried steps causing a soft breeze to ruffle the papers on his vanity. She was dressed in a flowing black dress, her face partially hidden by a mask that seemed more decorative than practical.

Hoseok instinctively turned to look but didn't call out to her. He couldn't. Years of being an idol had taught him to keep his distance in situations like this. He wasn't just J-Hope right now-he was a public figure, someone constantly watched, even in the most unexpected moments.

Still, something about her seemed out of place. She wasn't staff, and her attire wasn't typical for a concert attendee. For a brief second, their eyes met, and even through the mask, Hoseok could see the glimmer of awe in her gaze. It wasn't the kind of admiration he was used to from fans. It felt different-more raw, more vulnerable.

But Hoseok didn't linger. He gave her a polite nod, as he would to any fan, and returned to his vanity. He tried to shake off the encounter, telling himself it was nothing unusual. Fans sometimes found their way into restricted areas; security would handle it.

He focused on the mirror, picking up a makeup wipe and carefully removing the remnants of foundation and stage makeup. The motions were methodical, almost meditative, giving him a sense of routine in the midst of emotional chaos.

However, the girl's presence lingered in the back of his mind. Something about her demeanor-the way she seemed simultaneously out of place and yet drawn to him-stuck with him.

He heard a soft rustling behind him and realized she hadn't left. She was standing near the doorway, hesitant but not moving closer. Hoseok glanced at her through the mirror, his brows furrowing slightly.

"Are you lost Miss?" he asked, his tone polite but distant.

The girl startled slightly, as though she hadn't expected him to speak. "I... I'm sorry. I didn't mean to intrude, I just.." she said, her voice soft and trembling.

Hoseok turned around fully, keeping a respectful distance. "This area is restricted for everyone to came. If you came here by mistake I can call the Security they will help you if you're trying to find the exit."

The girl fidgeted with the edge of her dress, her gaze dropping to the floor. "No plz, don't call security... I just... I wanted to see you. I've admired you for so long, and I didn't know if I'd ever get the chance again. That's why.. I know it's wrong so sorry for this but it's totally worth taking risk, because you look more handsome in person."

Her words were genuine, but Hoseok remained cautious. He couldn't afford to let his guard down, no matter how heartfelt her intentions seemed. He gave her a small smile, one that didn't quite reach his eyes.

"I appreciate your support," he said, his voice kind but firm. "It means a lot to me. But you shouldn't be came here. It's not safe, not good and I wouldn't want you to get into trouble."

The girl's shoulders slumped slightly, and Hoseok felt a pang of guilt. He wasn't trying to be harsh, but he had to maintain boundaries.

"Security will escort you out, if they seen you here, or any media see us together then it will be the headlines Tommorow, so please leave!" he added, stepping toward the doorway to call for assistance.

Before he could, the girl spoke again, her voice steadying. "sorry for troubling you but I just wanted to say thank you. Your music has helped me through some of the hardest times in my life. It's given me strength when I had none left."

Hoseok paused, her words cutting through the professional barrier he had tried to maintain. He turned back to her, his expression softening.

"Thank you for telling me that," he said sincerely. "It means a lot to hear that my work has made a difference to someone's life."

The girl nodded, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. "It has. More than you'll ever know. You are really my hope every time a lost.."

Hoseok hesitated for a moment, torn between his instincts as an idol and the normal fan connection he felt in her words. Finally, he gave her a warm, genuine smile.

"I'm glad I could be there for you through my music," he said. "But now, it's time for you to leave and go back. Promise me that you'll never do this again, okay?"

The girl nodded, a small smile breaking through her emotional facade. "I will try because you are asking for it. And one more time Thank you, J-Hope."

With that, Hoseok called his P A to escort her out, ensuring she left safely.

As the door closed behind her, he sat back down at his vanity, staring at his reflection.

The encounter stayed with him, a reminder of the impact he had on people's lives, even when he felt at his lowest.

For the first time that night, Hoseok felt a flicker of warmth in his chest, a reminder that he wasn't truly alone.

The night continued, quiet and reflective, as Hoseok found solace in the knowledge that his music had connected him to someone, even if only for a fleeting moment. It wasn't the companionship he longed for, but it was enough for now.
