Chapter - 27

They sat there in comfortable silence for a while, just enjoying the closeness, the connection that had been building between them for so long. The movie continued to play, but it was nothing more than background noise now. The real story was unfolding between them, in the unspoken promises, in the gentle touches, in the shared smiles.

After a while, Jimin shifted slightly, resting his head on Yoongi’s shoulder. “I guess we’ve been through a lot, haven’t we?” he mused softly, his voice tinged with a mix of nostalgia and hope.

Yoongi hummed in agreement, his hand gently stroking Jimin’s arm. “We have. But I think it’s all been worth it. If it led us to this moment, then I wouldn’t change a thing.”

Jimin closed his eyes, feeling the steady rhythm of Yoongi’s heartbeat beneath his ear. “Me neither. I’m just happy we’re here now.”

Yoongi pressed a soft kiss to the top of Jimin’s head, a silent acknowledgment of everything they had been through, and everything that was still to come. There would be challenges, no doubt. But for the first time in a long time, Yoongi felt like he was ready to face them—because he wouldn’t be facing them alone.

As the night wore on, the two of them slowly drifted off to sleep, still wrapped in each other’s arms. The TV cast a soft glow over the room, but it was the warmth between them that kept the darkness at bay. Yoongi’s last conscious thought before sleep claimed him was that maybe, just maybe, he had found the person who could help him heal, who could help him rebuild the parts of himself that had been broken.

And as they slept, the world outside continued to turn, but inside that cozy apartment, time stood still. It was just the two of them, together in their own little world, where nothing else mattered except the quiet, steady love that was beginning to take root between them.

The road ahead might be uncertain, but for the first time in a long time, Yoongi felt like he was finally on the right path. And with Jimin by his side, he knew that they could face whatever challenges came their way. Together, they would build something beautiful, something lasting, something that was theirs and theirs alone.

In that moment, everything was perfect. And Yoongi wouldn’t have it any other way.

A week had passed since that evening in Yoongi’s apartment, where they had finally opened up to each other. The bond between them had grown stronger, and they had both found a new sense of comfort in each other’s presence. But there was something that had been on Yoongi’s mind ever since, something he knew he needed to address with Jimin.

It was late in the evening, and the studio was dimly lit, the warm glow from the monitors casting long shadows across the room. Yoongi sat at his desk, his fingers idly tapping on the keyboard as he glanced over at Jimin, who was engrossed in some work on the couch. The peaceful silence between them was familiar and soothing, but Yoongi’s thoughts were far from settled.

“Jimin-ah,” Yoongi called softly, breaking the silence.

Jimin looked up from his laptop, his expression curious. “Yes, hyung?”

Yoongi turned his chair to face Jimin fully, his gaze steady but gentle. “There’s something I’ve been thinking about, and I want to talk to you about it.”

Jimin set his laptop aside, giving Yoongi his full attention. “What is it?”

Yoongi took a deep breath, trying to find the right words. “I’ve noticed how hard you’ve been working lately, with both your jobs. I know how much stress it’s putting on you, and I don’t want to see you worn out like this.”

Jimin blinked in surprise, not expecting the conversation to go in this direction. “Hyung, I’m managing. It’s tough, but I can handle it.”

Yoongi shook his head, a small frown tugging at his lips. “I know you’re strong, Jimin. But I also know that this isn’t sustainable. You’ve been running yourself ragged, and I don’t want you to keep pushing yourself to the point of exhaustion.”

Jimin sighed, understanding where Yoongi was coming from, but he wasn’t sure what the older man was suggesting. “But hyung, I need both jobs. I can’t just quit one of them.”

Yoongi leaned forward, his voice gentle but firm. “That’s what I want to talk to you about. I don’t want you to keep working as a graphic designer. I want you to focus on being my assistant full-time.”

Jimin’s eyes widened in surprise. “But hyung, I can’t just quit my other job like that. I need the stability, the income…”

Yoongi reached out and took Jimin’s hand, his thumb rubbing soothing circles on the back of it. “Jimin, I’m offering you stability. I want you to be with me, always. I’ll make you my permanent assistant, with a proper salary and benefits. You won’t have to worry about anything else.”

Jimin stared at Yoongi, his mind racing with thoughts. He hadn’t expected this at all, and while the offer was tempting, he couldn’t help but feel a bit overwhelmed. “Hyung, that’s… that’s a big decision. I don’t know if I can just let go of my career like that.”

Yoongi nodded, understanding the weight of what he was asking. “I know it’s a lot, Jimin. But I’ve seen how passionate you are about your work here, how much you enjoy being in the studio with me. I don’t want to see you stress yourself out with something that’s draining you. I want you to focus on what makes you happy.”

Jimin bit his lip, his heart fluttering at Yoongi’s words. It was true that he loved working with Yoongi, that he felt more fulfilled in the studio than he ever did at his graphic design job. But still, the idea of letting go of that part of his life was daunting. “But hyung… what if I’m making the wrong choice? What if I regret it later?”

Yoongi’s grip on Jimin’s hand tightened slightly, his eyes earnest. “You won’t regret it, Jimin. I promise you that. And if you ever feel like you want to go back to graphic design, we can talk about it then. But for now, I want you to think about yourself, about your health and your happiness.”

Jimin looked down at their joined hands, his heart swelling with emotion. Yoongi’s concern for him, his desire to take care of him, was touching in a way that made Jimin’s chest ache. He knew Yoongi was right, that he had been pushing himself too hard. And the thought of spending more time with Yoongi, of being by his side every day, was more than appealing.

“Okay,” Jimin whispered, looking up at Yoongi with a soft smile. “I’ll do it. I’ll quit my graphic design job and focus on being your assistant.”
