Chapter - 29
The concert venue was packed, the energy buzzing with anticipation as the lights dimmed and the stage lit up with a dazzling display. Yoongi, Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook found their seats near the front, a perfect spot to witness J-Hope's performance.
Jungkook and Taehyung were practically bouncing with excitement, but Jimin was far from his usual self. His mind was focused solely on Yoongi, who sat quietly beside him, his eyes fixed on the stage.
Jimin’s hand brushed against Yoongi’s, seeking comfort. “Hyung, are you okay?”
Yoongi turned to Jimin, offering a faint smile. “I’m fine, Jimin-ah. Just... a lot on my mind.”
Before Jimin could respond, Taehyung and Jungkook leaned in, their curiosity piqued by the unfamiliar face next to Jimin.
“Jiminie, aren’t you going to introduce us?” Taehyung teased, his eyes dancing with mischief.
Jimin blinked, momentarily thrown off before realizing he hadn’t introduced Yoongi to his friends. “Oh! Right! Tae, Kook, this is Min Yoongi. He’s... someone very important to me.”
Yoongi glanced at Jimin, slightly surprised by the introduction but said nothing. He offered a polite nod to the two younger men.
Jungkook, ever the curious one, leaned closer, his eyes studying Yoongi. “Yoongi-hyung? As in the producer Jimin’s been working with?”
Jimin nodded, and Taehyung’s eyes widened in recognition. “Oh! I’ve heard about you. You’re really talented, hyung.”
Yoongi shifted slightly, unused to the attention. “Thank you,” he said quietly. “It’s nice to meet you both.”
Jimin could sense the underlying tension in Yoongi, so he quickly wrapped an arm around his shoulder, trying to ease him into the situation. “These two are my closest friends, hyung. They’re like family to me.”
Yoongi nodded again, feeling a bit more at ease with Jimin’s supportive presence. “It’s good to know Jimin has such great friends.”
Taehyung grinned, nudging Jungkook. “See, Kook? We’re great friends!”
Jungkook rolled his eyes but smiled, clearly pleased. “Of course we are.”
The conversation was lighthearted, helping to distract Yoongi from the impending moment when J-Hope would appear on stage. But as the first notes of the concert began, all four of them turned their attention forward.
Jimin watched the performance unfold with a mix of pride and worry. J-Hope was dazzling as always, his energy infectious, his moves flawless. But Jimin couldn’t fully enjoy it, his eyes darting frequently to Yoongi, who sat beside him, silent and still.
Yoongi’s gaze was fixed on the stage, but his mind was a blank slate. He watched as J-Hope performed, appreciating his undeniable talent. There was no trace of the overwhelming emotions he feared—no lingering sadness, no anger, just a calm recognition of the past and an admiration for the present.
“He’s... really good,” Yoongi finally whispered, almost to himself. “He’s always been this good.”
Jimin heard him and squeezed his hand gently. “You’re good too, hyung. You always have been.”
Yoongi gave Jimin a small smile but didn’t say anything more. The concert continued, but Jimin could tell Yoongi’s mind was elsewhere.
When the final song ended, and the lights came up, Taehyung and Jungkook were on their feet, cheering loudly. Jimin joined in, though his enthusiasm was muted compared to his friends. He turned to Yoongi, who was now staring at the stage with a contemplative expression.
