Chapter - 35 “Do you really want to marry me, Jimin?”

Jimin couldn't believe his ears whatever Yoongi told him, but somewhere he knew that it wasn't true.It's not Yoongi, it's the fear inside him that's making him say all this...

“Yoongi,” Jimin tried to speak again, his voice rising. “Look at me.”

“I can’t,” Yoongi said, his voice cracking.

Jimin’s frustration boiled over. He stood abruptly, his chest heaving as he stared at Yoongi’s back. “Can’t you just admit it?” he yelled, his voice echoing in the small apartment.

"Admit What?" - Yoongi flinched but didn’t move.

“Admit that you love me!” Jimin screamed, his emotions spilling out in a torrent. “Admit that you want to marry me, that you don’t want me to marry anyone else! Why can’t you just say it, Yoongi?”

Yoongi slowly turned to face him, his tear-streaked face breaking Jimin’s heart. But his next words cut even deeper.

“Do you really want to marry me, Jimin?” Yoongi asked, his voice trembling. “A man like me? I’m good for nothing. I’m broken, insecure, and I’ve spent so much of my life running away from everything. I don’t think I can make you happy for life.”

“You don’t get to decide that for me!” Jimin shouted, his hands clenched into fists.

“I’m trying to protect you!” Yoongi shouted back, his voice raw with emotion.

“From what?” Jimin demanded. “From love? From the one one person who makes me feel alive? Who make me feel loved?”

Yoongi looked away again, his shoulders slumping in defeat. “You shouldn’t go against your parents for a man me, I am not worth all this...’  and, Jimin. At the end of the day, they’re your family. They’ve always wanted the best for you. I’m not the best.”

Jimin felt a pang in his chest, the sharp sting of Yoongi’s words cutting through him.

He knew that Yoongi’s insecurities were speaking louder than his heart, but it didn’t make the words hurt any less.

“You’re a coward, just a coward Yoongi..” Jimin said, his voice dropping to a whisper.

Yoongi’s head snapped up, his eyes wide with surprise.

“You’re so scared of being happy, of letting yourself love me and be loved, that you’re willing to push me away,” Jimin said, his voice trembling with anger and pain.

“Jimin—”

“Just stop,” Jimin interrupted, holding up a hand. “If you can’t see what’s right in front of you, then maybe you don’t deserve it.”

Yoongi opened his mouth to respond, but no words came out. He stared at Jimin, his heart breaking into pieces as he saw the tears streaming down the younger man’s face.

“Get out from here...” Jimin said finally, his voice barely above a whisper.

Yoongi froze. “Jimin, I—”

“Just Go,” Jimin said, his voice rising. “If you’re so convinced that you’re not good enough for me, then leave. I don’t need someone who’s going to stand in their own way and mine.”

Yoongi felt his chest tighten, the weight of Jimin’s words crushing him. He nodded slowly, his eyes filled with tears as he turned and walked to the door.

As the door clicked shut behind him, Jimin sank to the floor, his head in his hands as he let the tears fall freely.

Outside the Apartment,

Yoongi stood outside the door, his hand resting on the doorknob. Every fiber of his being wanted to turn back, to walk inside and hold Jimin, to tell him that he was wrong—that he did love him, that he wanted to marry him more than anything.

But the weight of his insecurities held him back and he don't want to separate Jimin from his parents as well, He don't want to come in between them.

Inside the apartment, Jimin wiped his tears and stared at the door, his heart aching. He knew Yoongi loved him, but until Yoongi could face his fears, they would always be stuck in this painful situation.

All this that was happening today had happened before as well and even then Jimin had been in the same condition.

Jimin talk to himself while crying, "Why Yoongi why? Why you don't want to give some effort as well in our relationship? Am I not worth it, I don't want to marry anyone else than you... I was going to go home and tell my parents no to marriage because I love you, only you, I can't imagine anyone else in your place but for you it's all so easy You told me so easily that you should listen to your parents and obey them."

Jimin said all this while tearing up, "I am always ready to fight the whole world for our love but I just want you to show some courage and always hold my hand but you leave my hand even in small troubles. Maybe I am not worthy of anyone's love, especially your love..."

Yoongi is also still standing outside of the door and trying to hold himself...

Both men, separated by a single door, were left to wrestle with their emotions, their love for each other burning brightly but held back by the shadows of doubt and fear.
