Recreant

Heka arrived in front of his house. He saw Clancy standing at the door. It made him suspect that her presence was related to Ansel. “Clancy…”

“Heka you’re back. Where have you been all this time? You make me worried.” Clancy said. But Heka was silent.

Clancy realized there was a punch in his face. She tried to touch the wound. Heka waved Clancy’s hand.

“Heka, what happened to you? Did Ansel do it?”

Heka was silent. His guess was right. However, he didn’t have any idea what Clancy did behind him. After what happened that day, it made him very disappointed.

“Heka, I’m sorry. I didn’t think Ansel would hit you.”

He didn’t care what Clancy was trying to explain. He opened the door and entered his house. He restrained Clancy to get in. “I’m tired. You better go home.” He closed the door.

He was very disappointed and felt that the whole world betrayed him.

Behind the door, he could hear Clancy crying. He didn’t have any intention of making her cry. However, he was disappointed in Clancy. Someone he had always believed was on his side. This time, she had changed and preferred to believe in others. Although, he was the one who saved him.

Heka sat behind the door because he heard Clancy crying. She hadn’t left yet. He kept silent, accompanying Clancy, who was crying. He wanted to do something and stop her crying. Unfortunately, his disappointment was really great.

Heka didn’t sure how much longer Clancy would continue to cry behind the door. Maybe,  he felt that he should put aside his ego and disappointment.

He stood up and grabbed the doorknob. He heard Clancy’s phone ringing. Then, he heard Clancy’s footsteps moving away.

After there were no more footsteps, he opened the door. He saw Clancy had left. He saw the key lying on the ground. He gave Clancy his key, so she could come whenever she wanted.

He noticed that Clancy had returned the key. He felt sorry. He was disappointed with Clancy. But this was not what he expected.

He looked towards the elevator. Clancy had entered the elevator. He chased after her and got off in the other elevator.

Heka stood in front of the elevator and pressed the button. He hoped that he could still chase Clancy.

If Clancy had returned the key, it meant that it was all over. He knew that he had no right to force him and begged Clancy to stay with him. He just wanted to see Clancy happy. Even though she wasn’t with him. This time, he wasn’t ready to stay away from her.

Heka immediately got out of the elevator and ran fast as he could. He was relieved to see Clancy had not left his apartment. He ran towards Clancy. After they were closed, he suddenly hugged her from behind. “Don’t go, please...”

Clancy held his hand and let go. She turned back to Heka. “Don’t worry. I will not leave you.” She asked once more what she had asked before. “Where have you been going all this time? I looked for you, but I can’t find you.”

Heka felt that his meeting with Marchio did not need to be known by Clancy. So he chose to keep it a secret. “I went somewhere. Sorry, I can’t tell you where I went.”

Clancy was familiar with Heka’s character. They were close to each other. Hence, she tried to understand him. Moreover, he had just experienced something hard. “Okay, wherever you go, take care of yourself.”

“Don’t look for me anymore.”

Clancy was silent after she heard his words. Even though, she had known Heka for a long time. However, she felt that she couldn’t fully understand Heka.

Especially this time, Heka was being hit after losing his parents. She only gave Heka time to calm down. Moreover, she didn’t know how long Heka was in his vulnerability.

“After all, I will go somewhere. I don’t know when I will come back. When I come back, I will definitely meet you.” Heka continued. He begged Clancy to wait for him. “Will you wait for me?”

Actually, Heka wanted to be beside her. But he knew that he shouldn’t just disappear, without a word. So, he gave Clancy a choice.

If Clancy had to wait for him, it meant he had hope. But if she didn’t, it was a more than appropriate decision. Because he realized that he didn’t have anything that Clancy hoped for. It meant his life was over.

His life depended on Clancy.

“Okay, I’ll be waiting for you.” Heka was relieved that Clancy preferred to wait for him. “Thank you.” He kissed Clancy’s lips. He stopped the kiss when he realized that he remembered what he was supposed to do.

Then, he let Clancy go. “Go in the car…” He opened the car door for Clancy.

Clancy got into the car. He lowered half the car window and asked Heka. “Heka, someday can you tell me where you went and what are you doing?”

For Heka, her request was quite difficult. However, he couldn’t refuse it. “Okay,”

Clancy smiled. She was relieved that there was nothing to worry about. Because she believed that Heka would not do anything bad. He started the car and waved to Heka.

Heka saw her car far away. He was confused about how he would explain everything that happened. It was about Marchio and Kiervant Sky. Moreover, it was so hard to believe.

After Clancy’s car disappeared from sight, he entered the house. This time, the priority was Marchio. He had to do what Marchio wanted and ended it all.

Afterward, he can live like another human. Without any moment that related to the Immortal realm.

Clancy had decided to wait for him. Hence, he should not make her disappointed. Even so, he couldn’t guess the ending.

About Marchio, Heka didn’t want to waste the opportunity to meet his parents. Even though, he just wanted to say one word, ‘Sorry’. He would do anything for it.

He felt that Marchio wanted more than just a rabbit. Therefore, he was ready to sacrifice his soul if Marchio needed a human soul to be sacrificed. He could beg Marchio to give him time by spending the rest of his life with Clancy. Even it was just for one day.

You have to remember Marchio is not human. Nothing is free in this world, both in the human realm and the Immortal realm.

It was what Heka emphasized. At first, he lost his parents because of Soul Delivery. This time, he didn’t want to lose anyone just for the sake of the Reverse Time Illusion.
