Tree Of Life : Rymder Bridge Part 2

For what was in front of her now, Zephyxia felt that her life was meaningless. She just hid behind a large tree near the Rymder Bridge to avoid the attack of the biggest immortal that lived in the Rymder Valley.

She had no choice. Whatever the path she chose, all of them were just ended in death. She really was a useless immortal.

She did not know how long she would continue to stand still and leaned on a tree. Although her fate was uncertain, however she thought about Waylinn.

“Why does Waylinn come yet? Can he survive and make it out of Throgard Land? Do Throgenards swallow him?”

It made her realize one thing. She couldn’t possibly wait for Waylinn.

She turned to Rymder Bridge. Right behind the bridge, there was a monster who was ready to swallow her. Then, she looked ahead. In front of her, there was also a group of thrognards who have swallowed her.

“Deadlock. Wherever I go, I will end up.”

Then, she remembered about human in Kiervant Sky. Humans have a very short life. They didn’t have to think about how to survive until the destiny of life in the world has ended.

It was different with immortals. Immortals can never die. However, it didn’t mean that they would live forever. The death of the Immortals was terrible. Immortals killed and ended the lives each other. Or when the energy of the spirit has drained out, can not to survive and cannot find the human soul to make a living.

When they dead, they would be completely ashes. Soul and body disappeared.

“What do you think about live to be a human? It’s definitely much more fun. I never meet a sinister and terrible creature, and I will live in peace.”

 When Zephyxia saw Waylinn from a distance, her daydream broke. “Is he really Waylinn?”

She felt calm with Waylinn’s presence. Because she had nothing to worry anymore. It was certain that she could survive.

“Waylinn, why do you came too long? I think that you have been swallowed by Thrognard.” Zephyxia said when Waylinn was right in front of him.

“I won’t die easily like that.”

Zephyxia immediately hid behind Waylinn. “Waylinn there is a very big and scary immortal in below. He’s more vicious than Thrognard.”

“I know.” Waylinn walked towards Rymder Bridge and pulled out his sword.

During the first footsteps at the Rymder Bridge, a huge tail quickly invaded them. Waylinn swung the sword at the tail.

The tail seemed to have invisible eyes. He watched and noticed Waylinn who had just attacked him.

The tail hit them again and Waylinn hold it with a sword. It happened endlessly. But Waylinn resisted the attack from the tail while they were walking on the Rymder Bridge step by step.

Zephyxia stock behind him. There was nothing she could do. If she did something, it obviously become a boomerang and made it difficult for Waylinn.

Suddenly, the tail stopped attacking. Waylinn gave the signal. “Zephyxia, run, hurry up!!!”

He let Zephyxia run first. They ran as fast as possible before the giant spewed poison.

Rymder’s poison was so dangerous. When immortals exposed to poison, the body would melt like a ice.

Waylinn kept watching Rymder’s tail. So, he could tell whenever Rymder’s tail spewed out the poison.

Rymder’s tail started to spit out poison. He saw where the poison was directed.

Although it was just a tail, it could recognize all the Immortals who were in front of it. Waylinn knew the tail was pointing towards Zephyxia. He stopped and pulled Zephyxia back soon. So, Zephyxia survived from the burst of deadly poison.

It made Waylinn very alert. He only focused on the bursts of Rymder’s tail.

He noticed Rymder’s calm tail after spouted poison. He understood one thing. Rymder took some time to collect fluid on the tail. It was an opportunity for them to move forward.

He allowed Zephyxia to walk first. He shouted, “Zephyxia, hurry up!!!”

They ran as fast as they could. While they were running, Waylinn noticed Rymder’s tail. “It seems like the giant will spit out poison again.”

He headed straight for the front of Zephyxia. He grabbed Zephyxia’s hand and threw him.

Zephyxia was thrown far enough. But Waylinn didn’t have time to avoid the tail burst.

 “Waylinn!!!”, shouted Zephyxia. He saw part of Waylinn’s body being hit by a burst of Rymder’s poison. His body melted slowly. Once again, Waylinn sacrificed himself so Zephyxia could survive.

“Hurry up, go!” Although part of his body was exposed to Rymder’s poison, he was more concerned with Zephyxia’s safety. His body began to melt slowly.

However, Zephyxia stucked to the spot. Waylinn shouted once more. “Run!!! Go to Tree of Life!!!“. He threw his sword and a small bottle at Zephyxia and dropped himself into the Rymder Bridge abyss.

When she saw Waylinn who deliberately dropped himself into the abyss, she was transfixed. Rymder’s tail followed Waylinn down. She gripped the sword tightly that was given by Waylinn. She took advantage of the moment to run as fast as she could to cross the Rymder Bridge.

“Waylinn I’m sorry. I’m a useless creature.”

Finally, Zephyxia crossed Rymder Bridge safely, without the slightest wound.

 She kept watching the Rymder Bridge. “Why am I holding on to this day, if I have to sacrifice someone else? Waylinn I’m sorry, because of me, you’re suffering a lot.”

She took a small rock, then she threw it into the ravine of the Rymder Bridge. “The abyss is very deep. But I hope that you can be safe. Waylinn come back alive, please.”

Although Zephyxia saw Waylinn’s body melt and it was impossible for him to live, but she hoped that there was a miracle. So Waylinn could come back to life.

However, she believed in that. He believed that Waylinn would return. She was the only one who could revive Waylinn.

Zephyxia walked slowly and left the Rymder Bridge. She had to do the last message from Waylinn. Somehow, she had to arrive at the Tree of Life and save Waylinn.

Slowly, her body returned to normal. “Everything has been destroyed. The agreement with Marchio had disappeared, but…” She felt her body crushed. Her life was not long, so she couldn’t possibly go to the Tree of Life.

She remembered that there was a small house around Eridu. The house was occupied by a human. He was the only human who can live in the immortal realm.

He was a witch. The witch was very great and had mastered the science of how to move the human soul.

He has been in the Immortal realm for 1000 years. The way to survive was by replacing his body with a new human body. Every sixty years, he returned to the human realm to find a replacement body.

Of course he didn’t do that alone. There was an Immortal who helped him. Zephyxia hoped that the witch could revive Waylinn.
