'Good girl??? Girl girl?!' Tessia yelled to herself mentally. She was flustered and walked with her arms crossed, her blood simmering. 'Who does that prick of a guard think he is calling me that?'

Tessia huffed as she walked through the dense forest but yelped slightly as she tripped over a tree root. The guard looked at her over his shoulder with a raised brow just as she regained her footing and continued walking.

"I'm sure you got walking lessons when you were a child," The guard began and looked forward. Tessia's eyes flicked to the guard's back as he walked in front of her. "But, if you need a review, it would help if you walked with your arms uncrossed."

Tessia's eyes narrowed on him, "Oh, thank you, great and wise guard. I'll make sure to put this information to use."

The guard shrugged, "Whether you do or don't make no difference to me. I'm just trying to keep you from-"

"Whaa!" Tessia yelled as she lost her foot and tripped. With her arms crossed, she had no time to brace herself and fell facefirst onto the mossy floor.

The guard stopped and nonchalantly looked back at her, "-Falling."

Tessia grumbled and began to get up. Her eyes flicked to the guard, seeing him just standing there and watching her, "A gentleman would offer a lady some help, you know."

The guard shrugged, "Maybe. But this is a good learning lesson on to why not to walk with your arms crossed."

Tessia rolled her eyes, "Prick."

The guard chuckled, and Tessia was about to get up when he said, "Now, be a good girl and get up."

Tessia froze, and her glaring eyes snapped to the guard and narrowed. She huffed and quickly got into a sitting position, crossed her arms, and looked to the side. "No. Now I'm perfectly content sitting here."

The guard gave Tessia a deadpan look, "Seriously."

"Oh yes," Tessia said, giving him a side-eye. "The moss is quite comfortable. I may even end up lying here for the night."

The guard huffed, "Princess. I'm going to give you three seconds."

Tessia raised a brow, "For what?"

"To get up," The guard said and began to stretch his arms. "If you don't, I'm going to carry your ass back to the kingdom."

Tessia narrowed her eyes on him, knowing he would try. Her lips curved into a mischievous smirk, "Go ahead and try it." The guard raised a brow. "I will scream so loud that every guard in our vicinity will come over here, and-"

Tessia yelped as the guard quickly lunged forward, grabbed her by her waist, and flung her over his shoulder.

"W-What are you doing?!" Tessia yelled, and she began to flail.

"I told you," The guard said casually and began to walk toward the kingdom. "I'm carrying you back."

"Not on your life!!" Tessia yelled and repeatedly began to slap the guards back and flail her legs. "Put me down this instant!"

"You're the one who didn't want to get up." The guard chuckled, "One would think you wanted to be picked up."

"T-This is against elven law!!" Tessia exclaimed. "No one is to touch the princess!"

Arthur rolled his eyes, "Elven law chapter twelve subsection two states that a guard can place his hands on elven royalty if the royal member is a threat to themselves or others and the situation calls for it. And, the situation called for it."

"How in the stars does this situation call for it?!" Tessia exclaimed. She tried to push herself off, but the guard's grip around her waist tightened, keeping her restrained. She had to admit he was strong, irritatingly so. "I'm not even in danger!"
