[Prepare for appraisal...]

'Wait... what? I'm actually alive? ... I'm actually alive!'

Opening his eyes, Arthur found himself in an endless black void illuminated by a myriad of stars. Between those stars, countless strings of silver light were woven into a beautiful and incoceivably complex net, forming various nexuses and constellations.

While some would probably be nervous or afraid of their current surroundings, Arthur found himself in awe and feeling relieved. After all, he knew he was seeing the workings of the Nightmare Spell, the very thing that controlled his world. His parents had described the process of getting through the First Nightmare in detail, so he knew he was at the end of it. Now, he just had to sit back and receive his rewards.

But before the Spell could apprise him, his eyes widened as the Spell spoke again.

[You have received a Memory: Acclorite]

'No fucking way.'

Arthur had received his first Memory, and he couldn't be happier. One reason he was so elated was that he knew he received this Memory from the absolute dick of a king he killed, King Grey.

'Seriously... that guy was a jerk. I would hate to be like him.'

Because he received this Memory from Grey, he knew the Memory would be of the Supreme rank, since Grey himself was a Supreme. He could only hope that it was incredibly useful. Especially since he was just starting out, and his own soul core would be dormant. So, having a Memory of a much greater rank than his own Core would be a great boon.

Arthur was about to take a look at his new Memory, but before he could, the Spell spoke again.

[Aspirant! Your trial is over.]

'Yeah... no shit.'

[A defiant subject under a tyrant king. All followed their rule out of fear or loyalty, but he would not kneel to their will. Sentenced to death in the right of battle, they were given the materials to make a tool of their own salvation. Unwilling to go down without a fight, they created their mighty weapon and slew the god-loved king.]

[You have defeated a Supreme Titan: King Grey.]

[You have caught the eye of the dead gods. War God admires your tenacity for killing their beloved champion.]

'Their beloved champion... Can't tell if that's a good thing or bad thing...'

[You have achieved the impossible!]

[Final appraisal: magnificent. Your skill and defiance are to be commended by the divine themselves.]

'Hmmmmm. This all sounds good. Maybe I'll get an Ascended Aspect.'

[Your Aspect is ready to evolve. Evolve Aspect?]

Arthur took a deep breath, his heart racing, "Yes."

[Dormant Aspect Squire is evolving...]

[New Aspect acquired.]

'Hopefully it's better than Squire.'

Arthur felt pretty irritated when he first received that Aspect.

[Aspect Rank: Divine.]

Arthur went completely still.

[Aspect Name: Arcane Smith]

'Divine... I have a Divine Aspect...'

Arthur was beyond words. He never would have dreamt in a million years that he would be able to receive such a rank. He could not think of anyone else who had a Divine Aspect.
