"This is actually really cool."

Sitting at his desk in his room, examining the black cube in his hand, Sevren looked deep in concentration. He jerked his head, tossing his olive-colored hair out of his dark eyes, to get a better view of this ancient object. "Just don't break it."

Sevren looked to the side, eyeing his friend who was sitting comfortably in the silky black saucer chair. With wheat-colored hair and golden eyes, he looked at the white, bone-like dagger in his hands with curiosity.

The golden-eyed man scoffed, "If this breaks, then it was a shitty dagger to begin with." He grabbed the dagger with both hands, one on the hilt and the other on the blade. He attempted to bend it a little, but his brows raised, seeing how sturdy the dagger was. "And this is not a shitty dagger."

"I know," Severn said, placing the cube he was analyzing on the table. He turned in his seat, watching as his friend pursed his lips with an inquisitive expression. Sevren crossed his arms and narrowed his eyes, "Grey. Don't."

Grey looked at Sevren innocently, "Don't what?"

"Don't do whatever you were just thinking," Sevren stated flatly.

Grey smirked, "Who says I was thinking anything?"

Sevren hummed, looked to the side, and shrugged, "I suppose that's true. You can be quite thoughtless sometimes."

Grey gave Sevren a deadpan look. "Like when?"

Sevren raised a brow at Grey, "Shall I remind you of the lava incident?"

Grey paled, cleared his throat, and awkwardly scratched the back of his head, "Point taken." He looked back at the dagger in his hands, "This wasn't a stupid idea, though. I just wanted to see if it could survive a strike from my blade."

Sevren faced contorted with curiosity, with his gaze landing on the dagger. He thought about it for a few moments before he nodded. "This could be an interesting test. I haven't used it in battle yet as I wanted to test it out first." Sevren stood from his desk chair, and walked over to where Grey was sitting, and held out his hand. "Here, let me see it."

Grey flipped the dagger in his hand with expert precision, catching it by the tip of its blade. He held it out to Sevren, who took it and examined it.

Staring at the dagger, Sevren hummed and nodded, "Alright." He looked at Grey with excitement. "I'll hold the dagger out, and you strike it with your sword."

Grey chuckled, knowing Sevren would always get excited over his experiments and research.

"But," Sevren continued, and pointed the dagger at Grey accusingly. "If you break my new dagger, you're going to go back to the relictombs and find me a new one."

Grey held out two thumbs up, "Deal."

"Alright," Sevren turned, walked to the middle of his room, and held out the dagger. "Give it your best shot."

Grey shot up from the chair and stretched his right arm, "Don't mind if I do."

Grey walked to the center of the room, standing diagonally to Sevren's right. He held out his right hand, and white energy began to swirl around it before it extended and solidified, forming what looked like a translucent glass sword with a crossguard.

With an excited grin, Grey gripped the hilt of his glass sword with both hands and raised it above his head. He was preparing to swing it down with all his might, but he and Sevren froze when the door to the room suddenly flew open.

"What in the absolute fuck do you idiots think you're doing?"

Standing as still as statues, Grey and Sevren shared a quick gaze, looking like children who had just been caught doing something they shouldn't be. They both slowly pivoted toward the door, and their eyes fell on the gorgeous figure, who currently had her arms crossed and was glaring at them.
