The three of them stood there in utter silence, as Arthur's words hung in the air. Tessia's gaze flicked to Arthur's, seeing him staring at her with that half smile.

'Well... shit.'

Lilia opened and closed her mouth, her eyes darting from Tessia back to the parchment that Arthur was holding. She cleared her throat before looking back at Arthur. She tilted her head slightly while giving a soft smile, and curled her finger around her hair as she giggled. "What? Don't be silly, Arthur. Why would she know where Tessia is?"

Arthur didn't respond as he continued to stare at Tessia, and she stared at him.

Lilia swallowed hard, "I mean... come on. Just because she is from the elven race doesn't mean—"

"Lilia," Tessia cut her off, keeping eye contact with Arthur. "He already knows who I am."

Lilia froze, her gaze shooting to Arthur. She sighed, dropping her hand and rubbing her temples, "Well, that's great." She smiled at Arthur, "Surprise! It's a student council reunion!"

Arthur and Tessia looked at Lilia.

Lilia's eyes darted between Arthur and Tessia, then she sighed, "I'll just shut up now."

Arthur and Tessia went back to staring at each other, with Arthur still holding up the parchment.

"So." Tessia crossed her arms, "What now?"

Arthur lowered the parchment, and he looked around.

Tessia followed his gaze, seeing that one was around them at the moment. A perk of being at the guild early, Tessia supposed.

Arthur looked back at Tessia, "Now, you tell me why you ran away."

Tessia scoffed and looked away, "Why do you care?

"Because I do."

Tessia laughed, but there was no humor in it, "You could've fooled me. If you did, you wouldn't have—" Tessia clamped her mouth tight, before her gaze flicked to Lilia, seeing her perplexed gaze. Looking back at Arthur, Tessia said, "You wouldn't have left."

Arthur stared at her motionlessly. "I had my own reasons for leaving."

Tessia shook her head, "So you already told me. Not like I fucking care anymore."

"Uh," Lilia's gaze darted between Arthur and Tessia. "Do you want me to give you guys a minute to talk?"

"Yes," Arthur said.

"No," Tessia said at the same time, her eyes locked on Arthur. She looked at Lilia, "Stay."

"A-Alright," Lilia said, sounding unsure.

Arthur let out a sigh, "Fine. But, I still want to know why you ran away."

"None of your fucking business," Tessia snapped.

Lilia coughed from the side, suddenly finding the decor around the room interesting.

Arthur's eyes narrowed slightly on Tessia, "Did something happen with your father?"

Tessia's brows rose, and she flinched as her eyes snapped to Arthur.

Arthur's jaw clenched, and his gaze darkened. "What did he do?"

Tessia shook her head, "H-He didn't do anything."

Arthur seemed to study her for a second before his gaze snapped to Lilia, and he spoke more sternly, "What did he do to her?"

Lilia's head whirled to Arthur, looking genuinely surprised. Her lips parted, and her eyes flicked to Tessia.

"Don't ask her while I'm standing right here," Tessia demanded.
