Tessia knew better than to be last in formation, so she pushed mana into her legs and dashed across the great hall, straight towards the training hall. She was ahead of everyone else, except for Eleanor. Despite Eleanor being shorter than Tessia, Eleanor was nimble on her feet.
Eleanor and Tessia ran into the training hall, and Tessia was admittedly caught off guard. The training hall was usually a wide open area, giving people the ability to dash around as they pleased. However, now there were giant wooden walls erected in the room, with a single entrance facing Tessia and Eleanor. The walls spread out along the training hall, giving them no visibility on what the walls contain.
Standing in front of the walls were three figures: Caera, Jasmine, and one whom Tessia hadn't met before. She was tall and beautiful, with shoulder-length platinum blonde hair and light blue eyes. Tessia definitely thought she was an eye catcher, especially with how the leather hugged her curves and assets. But the most notable feature was her elven ears. She was the first elf she had noticed here.
"Hurry up!" Jasmine yelled, pointing in front of her. "Get in line over here in the position of attention!"
Tessia and Eleanor ran over, going as fast as they could. They quickly stopped in front of the three figures, standing beside each other in the position of attention.
Jasmine and Caera had their arms crossed, with Jasmine looking behind Tessia and Eleanor, most likely at the others as they ran up. Caera, though, her crimson eyes lingered on Tessia for a moment, before following Jasmine's gaze.
Shortly after, Claire, followed by Theo and Elijah, ran up.
Jasmine let out a disappointed sigh as Lucas finally arrived, "Nice of you to finally get here, Wykes."
Tessia could see Lucas' jaw clench out of the corner of her eye.
"Don't use my family name," Bairon said, as he walked around into view.
Tessia looked at Bairon, then at Arthur, who was walking beside him. Arthur's eyes flicked to her, and she quickly looked away when their gaze met. She could see Caera narrow her eyes at her.
Bairon crossed his arms, glaring at his brother, "He hasn't earned that name."
Jasmine looked at Bairon, "My apologies."
Bairon's eyes flicked to Jasmine, and his lips curled ever so slightly, before he looked forward and his emotionless mask reappeared.
"Well, now that you're all here," Jasmine began as she stepped forward. She walked in front of them, slowly, her eyes appraising all of them. "We can begin." Once she walked past all of them, she made her way back to the front, glaring at them all. She scoffed, "You think you are hot shit just because you made it through the first week. Oh, please."
"We were just assessing you," Caera stated firmly. "We wanted to see what you were all capable of. And let's just say, we aren't impressed."
Lucas scoffed quietly, "Shocker."
All the instructors' eyes snapped to Lucas, who flinched.
Tessia mentally sighed, wondering how much of an idiot this guy could be.
Bairon narrowed his eyes and was about to speak. But he stopped when Arthur raised his hand, stopping him.
"Lucas," Arthur began, his voice low, dangerous, and firm. Arthur held himself straight, almost like he was ready to strike at any moment.
Some might be intimidated by Arthur's stance, his voice, or just him in general. But Tessia couldn't explain it. She couldn't explain why none of this intimidated her, why it actually enticed her.
