Tessia Eralith POV
'Ugh... I'm going to throw up.'
Walking through the campus of the luxurious Xyrus Academy, my eyes darted around, taking in the empty grounds. Footsteps could be heard behind me, which came from the few people I was walking with.
Right now, we are heading to the auditorium for the grand welcome speech for everyone coming to and returning to the academy. It was why the campus area we were walking through was currently empty, aside from the few stragglers heading to the auditorium and the members walking behind me. The reason I and the others with me aren't in the auditorium right now is that we are members of the student council. We won't be sitting amongst the other students, but will be standing on the stage with the Academy Director.
But that wasn't all. At least, not for me. I have the luxury of giving a speech along with the director, since I am the student council president. At only a second year, might I add... get fucked, upper classman. Giving a speech didn't really make me nervous, since I have been in the spotlight since damn near the day I was born, since I'm the child of the elven councilors. People always expected great things from me, which is why I always made sure to act properly... at least while in public.
Today would be no exception. I would make sure to stand up straight on that stage, look out to the crowd of students professionally, and speak loudly and clearly.
My stomach twisted at the thought.
'Fucking shit.... Ugh, why am I nervous!!'
It was a stupid question, since I was well the fuck aware of why I was so nervous. It was because he was going to be here. It will be his first year at Xyrus Academy, and the first time I have seen him in almost two years.
'I wonder how much he has changed...'
My eyes fell as I walked, remembering when I was only six years old and accompanied my parents to the esteemed floating castle. There, I had met him for the first time. A boy with auburn hair and the most beautiful azure eyes. A smile graced my lips as I recalled that I didn't know who he was, since I had gone off exploring the castle by myself without my parents' knowledge. He and I talked and played together for what seemed like forever, even the guards found us. It was a core memory, because it was the first time I could remember genuinely having fun with someone close to my age, without them treating me weirdly for who I was.
"We're here."
My head snapped up as I was suddenly snapped out of my thoughts, and my eyes settled on the back of the auditorium.
Movement to my left caught my attention, and I looked at Clive, my vice president, as he came to stand beside me. He was an arrogant prick because his family was nibility, and also looked down at people who he thought were of lower status than himself. But whenever he looked at me, I could always see the lust in his eyes, like how he was looking at me now. He was tall, I'll give him that, but not very muscular, and not my type... not him.
'So stop looking at me like I'm gonna jump in your bed.'
Clive gave me that little stupid fucking grin, which I found annoying, "Ready for this?"
"Yep," I said, flatly.
Clive nodded, "Good. Because I think you'll do great."
I tried my damndest not to roll my eyes. He was elected to his position, and it would be bad if the vice president and the president didn't get along. But that didn't mean I needed to play nice.
"Thanks," Was all I said.
"I have your speech right here," A female voice said.
I looked toward the source of the voice and smiled at Lilia, the student council secretary. She was a nice, down-to-earth girl with whom I got along incredibly well. Her family was well known and respected, and she was easy to get along with. Not to mention, she was quite beautiful, with her long brown hair braided and her kitten-like hazel eyes.
