'So many people.'

My eyes darted around as I looked outside the window of my dorm room. While the individuals I was looking at were some distance away, I could still see that there was a large number of them. And, I knew there were still people arriving at the academy as I stood here.

'It'll be fine, Mama.'

I turned to look at Sylvie, who was lying comfortably on her back with her tongue sticking out of the side of her mouth. I smiled, wishing I had an image-capturing artifact on me.

Sylvie's eyes flicked to me, 'Just don't think about how many people there are.'

I nodded, 'Yeah.'

'Just focus on the speech that you will be giving to the entire school while you're on the stage and they're all star—'

'Not helping.'

Sylvie snickered, 'Sorry.' She rolled over onto her belly and did that cute little head tilt. 'Are you rested enough? You were tossing and turning all night.'

'I'm fine,' I said as I walked over to the bed and picked up my vest. 'Just a little restless through the night. But I feel fine right now.'

I buttoned up my vest, then grabbed my student council cloak. I threw it over my shoulders and clasped it into place before I turned to face my desk. My eyes lingered on the folders that Grandma Cynthia had given me. I had read through all of their files, trying to ascertain what kind of people they were. However, I also knew that knowing someone on paper was different from knowing them in person. So, I would be counting on Arthur's input before making a final decision.

My head swiveled toward the clock, seeing I still had some time before the student council was supposed to convene. But I still wanted to get to the meeting room early.

I quickly made my way over to my desk and gathered the scattered folders, and neatly stacked them into a pile. Picking up the folders, I walked over to my bed and smiled, 'Let's go, Sylv.'

Sylvie stood up and did a deep back stretch, before she jumped onto my shoulder and lay down comfortably. I gave her a sweet head pat before making my way to the door. Exiting my room, I made my way down the hall to the first floor, then arrived at the student council room. When I pushed the doors open, surprise flooded over me as my eyes fell on Arthur, who was casually sitting at the table.

He had his right ankle resting on his left knee, with the folders grandma Cynthia had given him yesterday neatly sitting in a pile to his right. He was currently looking at a piece of parchment on which he was writing, before his gaze flicked up to me.

His soft lips curled, "Good morning, Tessia."

"G-good morning," I stuttered slightly from surprise. Gosh, can I please not be such an idiot? I cleared my throat and smiled, "I didn't expect anyone to be here before me." I began to make my way into the room. "What time did you get here?"

He shrugged, as those beautiful azure eyes of his tracked me across the room. "A few minutes ago." His eyes flicked to the parchment he was writing on, "I was making a list of the things we have to do today."

I reached the table and set the folders down. I raised a brow at the parchment, "Like what?"

Arthur's eyes flicked to Sylvie as she jumped onto the table, and he smiled slightly as he patted the table. Sylvie Kyu'd as she pranced over to him, and rolled onto her back as he began to scratch her stomach. Her left leg began to twitch as he hit her itchy spot.

I mentally chuckled, 'Seriously?'

'One does not simply deny belly scratches,' Sylvie replied, her tone relaxed.
