Standing in front of the mirror, Arthur stared at his reflection, giving himself a once-over. He kept his hair unbound, slightly dark from being damp after his shower. He thought letting his hair hang loose looked better than tying it back like he usually did.
As Arthur stared at himself, he admired how well he looked in his black suit with a blue button-up shirt, which really made his eyes pop out. His dress shoes were nicely polished, allowing them to show a bit of his reflection. He was sure that people were going to be well-dressed for the ball, so he wanted to make sure he looked his best. Though admittedly, he wasn't wearing anything that would make him stand out.
Arthur's brows raised, thinking he did have something that might catch some people's eyes, even among the well esteemed Valor Clan. A wave of white sparks flooded around his neck, and in the next moment, his Acclorite Memory was hanging around his neck. Arthur's lips curled, thinking that the black chain and oval amethyst went well with his suit.
"FREEDOM!!"
Arthur's smile disappeared, and he sighed mentally, hearing the drawback of summoning this Memory.
Regis appeared over Arthur's shoulder as a whisper of darkness, "So, did you start to get lonely without my majestic presence?"
Arthur mentally rolled his eyes, "More like I'm beginning to regret summoning this Memory."
Regis floated to the other shoulder, "You know, you really have a downcast attitude."
Arthur shook his head and sighed, "I take it that if I keep this Memory on, you're going to annoy me the entire time?"
"Why? Got somewhere important to be?" Regis asked as he whisked in front of Arthur.
Arthur raised his chin, "As a matter of fact, I do."
Regis seemed to look Arthur up and down, "Is that why you're dressed in this ridiculous suit?"
Arthur narrowed his eyes, "The suit is not ridiculous."
"If you say so," Regis said, his tone sarcastic.
Arthur huffed, "Listen. My family and I are going to a ball tonight. Some very important and wealthy people will be there. If I wear this Memory, will you behave yourself and stay inside the necklace?"
Regis floated closer to Arthur, "And what's in it for me?"
Arthur shrugged, "I'll make sure to summon you more often."
Regis hummed, before he floated around the room, "I do like the open space to move around." He faced Arthur, "I suppose I may be able to accommodate this request."
Arthur narrowed his eyes, "You suppose? That's not very convincing. I need you to promise you won't misbehave or cause trouble."
"Gosh, why don't you just cut off my balls while you're at it?" Regis gumbled.
"That's it, I'm just going to dismiss you."
"Fine," Regis said quickly, then sighed. "I'll be on my best behavior."
Arthur stared at Regis for a few seconds, then nodded, "Alright. Then stay inside the necklace."
"So demanding," Regis sighed, before he vanished.
Arthur let out a long breath before he turned to face his reflection again. He liked how well the necklace looked on him, but some part in the back of his head continued to tell him it was a bad idea.
Before he could ponder the decision more, Arthur's eyes flicked to his door, hearing a knock. "Come in." Through the mirror, he watched as the door opened, then his mother peeked her head in.
