General Velvette Headcanons

-Velvette is a millennial, and she was born in 1984. She died at the age of 25 in 2009

-As a teenager, she was very popular at school, and she would often get in trouble for customising her school uniform to make it fit in with the latest fashion trends

-She studied fashion design in university, specialising in dress-making. Her dresses were so popular among her classmates that she started selling them to pay for her living expenses while she was in university

-When she graduated, she wrote a column for a fashion magazine, and towards the end of her life, she started her own fashion blog, where she showed off the dresses she made. She amassed a lot of followers in a very short amount of time

-Velvette likes to create themed outfits and collections, and she's very fond of ballgowns in particular. She likes to incorporate fairytale figures into her designs (She put Melissa in a princess dress in episode 2, so I like to think that she often makes princess and/or fairytale themed dresses and accessories)

-Her favorite perfume is Rock Princess by Vera Wang

-Velvette was black British in life, and her grandparents and great grandparents were from the Caribbean. They were part of the wind rush generation

-She is a lesbian, but she told everyone that she was bi when she was alive because she liked getting attention from men and women. She only dated girls who were as fashion forward as she was, and she wasn't above sleeping with people above her so that she could climb the corporate ladder in the fashion world

-Her favorite TV show is Sugar Rush, as it reminds her of her experiences of being a lesbian in 2000s England

-Velvette continued fashion blogging and dress making when she died and went to Hell, and when social media began to take off in Hell, she became one of VoxTube's first fashion influencers. Her designs were selling out all over Hell, and her videos were getting millions of views, along with the posts she made on her blog

-Velvette kind of became an overlord by accident, as she collected souls as payment for her clothes. If people wanted her clothes, but couldn't pay for them with money, she allowed them to pay with their souls instead. She made Hellish history by being the first person to become an overlord through completely non-violent means

-She doesn't do much with the souls she owns. She forces the pretty ones to work for her as her models, and she leaves the ugly ones alone as she believes that they serve no purpose to her

-Because of her great public image and ability to influence the masses into buying her products and giving them their souls, Vox decided to interview her live on his talk show. Everyone thought that he was interviewing her to capitalise on her new fame as one of Hell's rising stars, but in truth, he was interviewing her in the hopes that she would prove useful to him. He was looking for a young, fashion forward sinner to help him keep updated with the latest trends and appeal to the younger sinners, and he thought that she was perfect for the role

-Vox was greatly impressed by Velvette during her interview with him, and invited her to join the Vs as their spokeswoman. She agreed, wanting to use his status to uplift her own status

-She is aware of Vox and Alastor's rivalry, but she doesn't pay much attention to it unless she can profit off of it somehow. She's thinking of launching a pair of limited edition Vox and Alastor themed dresses just because they're the most popular overlords in Hell, and anything that's themed after them will sell well

-She considers herself the sanest member of the Vs, as she's the one who has to keep Vox and Valentino in line so that they don't screw up the Vs brand image

-Vox and Valentino think of her as an obnoxious teen daughter, but she thinks of them as two misbehaving old men who are out of touch with the rest of Hell

-She low-key hates Valentino and wishes that Vox would break up with him because he makes her very uncomfortable with the way he treats women, and because she considers him the weakest member of the Vs. She thinks that he's only in with the Vs because he's Vox's boyfriend, and not because he deserves to be part of the trio

-Velvette has family members in Heaven, but she has no interest in joining them, and thus will never go to the hotel. She's too busy enjoying her success in Hell to worry about loved ones in Heaven

-She does, however, wish that she could convince Charlie to model for her. She would love to have a real princess wear one of her princess dresses
