Location: 长白山 – The Other Bronze Doors
The other day
"Hey, we'd love to show you around more but we've got to catch that flight to China..." I began.
"Oh what a coincidence we are going back today too! Maybe we'll see eachother at the airport!" Laughed Xiaoshi.
"Yeah, what time is your flight?" I asked, "I can get one of my friends to drive you there." I insisted.
"Uhm... no need! It's 2:00pm." Began Xiaoshi.
"Wow we might be same time just different location! See you there." I waved.
They then left.
Around the afternoon, Xiao, Wrio and I went to the airport and got onto the spaceship that was disguised as a huge commercial jet.
After meeting up with the time travelers, we had to rush off somewhere...
Wu Xie apparently had placed the keys he had found in the previous tomb together, forming a larger, more intricate key. Slipping it into his pocket, he pulled out a torn map and his phone, debating where to head next.
"We don't need locals. I know where we're going," Xiao replied determinedly.
But Wu Xie, already ahead of us, had in fact found a local guide.
The Following Week
An icy wind swept over the snow-covered peaks of 长白山.
We trudged across the frozen landscape until we reached an ice lake at the mountain's base.
"Now, we cross," Wu Xie said firmly.
Xiao went ahead, testing the ice. He leapt lightly onto its surface, peering down through the transparent sheet.
I followed his gaze—beneath the crystal-clear ice lay something unsettling.
"It's safe to cross," Xiao confirmed, "but I sense the presence of a large creature beneath us."
"Thanks, Xiao," Wu Xie said, giving him a firm pat on the back.
Wu Xie, Fatty, Zhang Haike, Zhang Haixing, and the local guide began walking cautiously across the lake. Snow drifted gently from the sky.
But as they reached the middle, one of the locals slipped and then was violently yanked downward.
A massive shadow burst through the ice, dragging him into the depths.
"Let me deal with this!" Xiao shouted, leaping straight into the hole.
I rushed forward, looking down in worry.
Underwater, the Yaksha darted with terrifying speed, driving his spear into the monstrous fish repeatedly until it fell still.
When Xiao surfaced, his voice rang out: "下面有六角铃铛!"
"The Hexagonal Bell is a secret Zhang family weapon for illusions!" I explained quickly.
"We're immune, but mortals aren't. Archons and Vision holders can resist it," Xiao added.
"Hold your breath as long as you can!" I ordered.
"What she said!" Xiao echoed, then, without hesitation, scooped us up and teleported across the lake.
