JOHNNY
March 23rd 2005
After the longest, most anxiety-induced seven weeks of my life, I finally decided to go knock on my girlfriend's door.
Fortunately, she was the one who opened it, unfortunately with a broken ankle. I took her to my house, at which I mentioned bringing Gards into her situation. She almost broke up with me then and there.
That moment made me realise how truly horrible her parents were. It wasn't just a tiny problem; it took over her entire life. It limited her potential. I needed to get her out somehow.
Someone broke her ankle. I didn't want to think about how it happened. If I asked her, she would tell me she tripped down the stairs, but I knew it was her father's fault.
She was hopping around on one leg, the other one in a cast, and I was supposed to sit back and watch her being broken bit by bit? I wouldn't let him hurt her.
It was horrible, having to let it happen, but she would try to push me away if I tried to intercept. So, I stayed out until she needed me to help her again.
I told her that I loved her, and she said she loved me too. It was the best feeling in the world.
We would be okay, I just needed to talk to my Da. I promised her no Gards, but I had to do something. Her fucking ankle was broken.
I had to help her get out.
NOTE
