"So, what was that yesterday?" Johnny asked me, coming up behind me while I sat at the kitchen counter.

I smirked. "Hm?"

"You can't pretend like you didn't—"

"I'll do what I want, thank you very much," I teased.

He shook his head.

"Want a better angle next time?" I joked.

"That angle was just fine," He laughed. "Jaysus, I can't stay away from you if you send me those things, Mel. I'm trying, for the better, but you..."

"I'm irresistible, I know," I grinned.

He agreed playfully. "Not incorrect."

"I'll see you at school," I told him. "Try to behave."

"You're taunting me," He whined.

"I'm conditioning you."

"So, how's he doing, being in the dog house and all?" Gibsie asked me.

I shrugged. "He's fine."

Gibs was already suspicious. "What did you do?"

I sighed.

"Melissa!" He gasped.

"I couldn't help myself, okay?" I whined.

"Jaysus, you guys are like rabbits," He started his analogy.

I stopped him midway. "No... don't even. Imagine sleeping down the hall from Claire, Gibs. Every night."

He shrugged. "I usually sleep in her bed every night."

I scoffed. "Okay, but imagine being me and sleeping down the hall from Johnny."

He closed his eyes and put his fingers to his forehead, as if he was really trying. "Yeah, no, I can't imagine."

I sighed. "I'm literally going crazy. We keep arguing because we spend too much time together but then I can't stay away."

"And Johnny definitely can't either," He joked.

I rolled my eyes.

"Okay, but what if the problem isn't that you live together," Gibsie started. "But rather how you've been handling it."

I frowned.

"So, you've been constantly spending time together, just the two of you," He said.

I thought about it. He was right. We watched a movie with one of my siblings once, but that was it.

"Maybe you just need to spend time together, with other people too."

I laughed. "How the fuck are you so good at relationship advice?"

"I've been betrothed since I was six," He joked.

"Thanks, Gibs. If you need some advice, I'm here," I emphasised.

"I know." He winked teasingly.

"We should get back for the next class," I told him, stubbing out my cigarette.

"You can go, but I'm gonna hide out here and listen to your mixtape," He told me. "And don't worry, I'll drill my advice into Johnny's head, too. You don't need to have that conversation."

I smiled gratefully. "My little postal pigeon."

He grinned. "Lynch Vicious."

"From anyone else, I would take that as an insult," I let him know of his privilege.

"I'm flattered. See you, Harley Quinn," He referenced the first night we met.

I rolled my eyes and reminisced, getting up from the grass behind the science building. "Deuces, Joker."

NOTE

Some Gibsie & Melissa content 'cause I've missed their friendship <3

Sorry for the lack of long chapters lately.

Also, sorry about not publishing a double chapter when I said I would, I happened to overestimate myself. School is keeping me extra busy and I'm constantly sick because 'tis the season.

Love you all Xx
