Nobody has said anything to me or Katniss about the interview with Peeta and Cordelia. It's only been a day, but you would think that if my fiance was in an interview for the Capitol someone would at least mention it.
Katniss left with a crew of people to go to district 12. I wanted to go with them, but they stopped me and I've been sitting in my room since. I was also told that I could go down to Beetee and check out my new trident and what will hopefully be Cordelia's knives.
I hear a knock on the door and I look up from my rope and see Cody walking in the room. I haven't seen him much. I've either been in the hospital or couped up in my room. I couldn't bear the thought of going on as normal without Cordelia beside me.
"I haven't seen you around much." Cody says, walking over to sit down beside me on my bed.
"I didn't want to see anyone." I mumble, my eyes going back to my rope.
"I've gotta show you something." He says. My eyes shoot up and I look over at him. "Now I had to talk to a couple of people before this got cleared, but I think you deserve to see it." He grabs the remote beside me and turns on the TV.
He is flipping through something until he finally gets to a video that shows the Capitol's seal. I recognize the start of the video as the one that Katniss and I saw the other day.
"I know that you have been upset not being able to see her and all, so I thought you would want to see this." He says, skipping the video ahead to show the same Cordelia I saw the other night. The one that looked like she was hurting. The one that looked as if she might break if the wind blew too hard.
My throat constricts at the thought of her being in danger and it's hard to not be there to protect her. The video ends and I look back down at my hands. "I know, kid. I know it's hard, but we need to keep hope." Cody says.
I look up at him and he must see the tears ready to slip out of my eyes. "If we don't get her back I don't know how I'm going to live. I've known her for so long that I don't remember how to be without her." I say.
