It's been six months since Advika became part of our lives, and it's hard to imagine a day without her now. In that time, several authorities visited us monthly, assessing whether she was adjusting well, and if our home was the right fit for her.

Thankfully, every visit reinforced what we already knew- Advika was happy, thriving, and loved.

Although I used some of my own influence to speed up the adoption process, the final decision rested with the authorities. They seemed convinced that Advika was in good hands, not only because of her joy but also due to the financial stability we provided.

Tomorrow is the court hearing that will finalize everything, and we'll find out if she'll officially be ours forever.

Also, 3 months back we celebrated our one year anniversary. We had a small celebration just we three.

"Lucas, stop working. We have the court hearing tomorrow." Akshita barged into my study room with a thud.

"Relax, baby. I know that, but I have some work."

"Can't it be done later? Advika cried herself to sleep tonight, since you were here busy with your work." I widened my eyes hearing her.

I stood up from my chair and yelled, "What? Why didn't you call me?"

"Cause you were busy."

"Akshu, I am never too busy for my family." I muttered walking closer to her and engulfing her in a bear hug.

"Mhmm! I know." She replied, burying her face in my chest.

"I am so sorry, I have been busy too much recently giving you all the responsibility of taking care of her. I don't want you to worry but it's hard without you in the company."

"Sorry, I do as much work I could possibly do from home, but you do know we can't leave advika alone here."

"Mhmm, I have something in my mind." She looked at me in confusion. "We can built a small playroom for her in my cabin."

"Hmm, that's good. In this way, we could take care of her as well as of our work." Akshita said grinning.

"Do you want to know something?"

She looked at me and nodded, "Our home, is ready." I told and saw her eyes lit up in happiness.

"Really? This means we can shift there soon?"

"Yes, we can." She squealed and pecked my lips.

"Aww! I dint know this news could make you this happy, if I had the idea I would have told you last week."

"Last week?"

"Mhmm, the house was fully constructed last week. This week, I got some basic furniture and equipments in the house."

"Wow! That means we are shifting there soon?"

"Yes, as soon as we get our advika as our daughter." I smiled widely.
