Akshita's pov

The past three months have been hard, but Lucas being by my side has made everything easier. Through every moment of nausea and exhaustion, he’s been there, helping me feel stronger. I feel lucky to have a husband like him—always supportive and caring, even during my hardest moments.

And he doesn’t just look after me; he makes sure Advika feels just as loved. Watching him balance everything so perfectly fills me with gratitude, making each day a little more manageable.

As we move through this journey together, I realize just how much I rely on him. His presence brings a warmth I never knew I needed, and I find myself looking forward to our future as a family, with Lucas by my side, every step of the way.

Just as my thoughts drifted to all he’d done for me, I heard the door creak open. Lucas walked in, carrying a small tray with a glass of juice and a bowl of soup. He flashed me a warm smile as he set it down beside me.

"Feeling okay?" he asked, gently tucking a loose strand of hair behind my ear.

I nodded, touched by his thoughtfulness. "Just... thinking about everything."

He tilted his head, eyebrows raised in that familiar way, urging me to continue. "Everything like what?"

I laughed softly, shaking my head. "Just how grateful I am to have you by my side."

His smile softened, and he took my hand, giving it a light squeeze. "You’ll never have to go through any of this alone, Akshi. We’re in this together, remember?"

"Lucas baby, can you make me chocolate cake?" I asked looking at him cutely.

"Um...you had muffins last week."

"Pretty please!" I made puppy eyes to convince him.

Lucas sighed but couldn't resist my excitement. "Alright, chocolate cake it is," he said, rolling his eyes playfully. I cheered and wrapped my arms around him, my happiness bubbling over.

I followed him in the kitchen."Let me help!" I offered, heading toward the mixing bowl he’d just set out.

He shook his head, a teasing smirk on his lips. "Oh no, you’re not lifting a finger. You're the one who asked for it, so you get to sit back and enjoy." Before I could protest, he lifted me up and set me gently on the countertop, right next to the ingredients.

"Stay here, and just keep me entertained," he said, tapping my nose.

I crossed my arms but couldn't help laughing. "Fine, but I’ll be the taste tester."

As he measured the ingredients, I began humming one of his favorite songs. He glanced over, his lips quirking up, and shook his head, pretending to focus. I kept singing softly, watching as he mixed and stirred, carefully pouring the batter into a cake pan.

"See, it’s much more peaceful when you’re not stealing the bowl," he teased, sliding the pan into the oven.

"Maybe," I said with a grin, swinging my legs from the countertop. "But it’s more fun with both of us making a mess."

He chuckled and leaned in, placing a soft kiss on my forehead. "I wouldn’t have it any other way."

Suddenly a mischievous idea popped into my mind. I smirked internally and stared at the bowl which has some batter left. I slid off the counter as quiet as I could, I dipped my fingers in the batter and before he could turn, I smeared it on his cheek.

I laughed as he gasped and turned towards me, "Did you just...?"

I put on the most innocent face i could muster up, "Who me?"
