Akshita's pov
Sitting still at the wedding was making me restless. Lucas was off to the side with Asher, fulfilling his best man duties, while I was here with Mom, Dad, and Advika, feeling a bit left out and sulking.
Don’t get me wrong—I’m thrilled that Asher and Lily are about to tie the knot in just a few minutes, but all this waiting was making me really hungry.
I glanced around, hoping for a snack table nearby, but no luck. I sighed, shifting in my seat, trying to ignore the hunger pangs. It’s a beautiful ceremony, but right now, food was all I could think about!
"Akshu, is everything alright?" Dad’s voice pulled me from my thoughts.
I gave him a small, pleading look. "I want ice cream," I murmured, trying not to sound too whiny.
He chuckled softly. "Alright, hang tight. As soon as Asher and Lily are officially husband and wife, I’ll go find out where we can get you some ice cream."
But I wasn’t having it. With a slight huff, I slouched back in my chair, still sulking, imagining that cold, creamy ice cream that felt way too far away.
"Maa." I heard advika's cute little voice as the song started playing indicating the bride's entry.
"Yes baby?"
"I am going to the washroom." She mumbled and left.
As the ceremony progressed, I couldn't help but feel a rush of emotions. My heart swelled with happiness as I watched Lily walk down the aisle, looking like a dream. The music swirled in the air, and before I knew it, the officiant's voice rang out, "I now pronounce you husband and wife."
The crowd erupted in applause, and I could see Asher grinning ear to ear. With the official part done, he quickly turned to Lucas, who had been standing by his side as the best man, and the two shared a brief exchange.
Lucas’s eyes met mine, and he smiled, his duty as best man finally over. He walked over to me, his face filled with affection.
"You okay?" Lucas asked softly, his hand brushing my shoulder.
I nodded, still feeling the joy of the ceremony but also the weight of being eight months pregnant and tired. "Just a little tired," I admitted, trying to hide the fact that I’d been sulking from hunger.
He chuckled softly. "I know you’re hungry," he said, sitting beside me and handing me a plate of food. "But no ice cream today."
I gave him a playful pout, but my stomach immediately softened at the sight of the food.
He settled beside me, content in the moment as we enjoyed the celebration, his hand resting gently on my growing belly.

I grinned ear to ear, watching Lucas engage in a conversation with some of the guests. As he remained distracted, I took the opportunity to sneak my way toward the ice cream counter, my excitement growing with each step.
I carefully picked up my bowl and began to indulge in the sweet treats, savoring each bite. By the time I finished my third bowl, I felt completely satisfied, but also a bit guilty, when I spotted Lucas’s eyes narrowing at me from across the room.
I sheepishly smiled, trying to act casual as I stood up, quickly wiping my mouth. "This is my first," I mumbled, hoping he didn’t catch me red-handed.
Lucas raised an eyebrow, his lips curling into a smirk. "I know you're lying, sweetheart. I saw you eat two before," he teased, his voice laced with amusement.
I huffed, trying to defend myself. "Well, it’s not my fault! The ice cream just looked so good," I shot back, my cheeks turning pink from being caught.
