Akshita's pov

Honestly speaking, the last six weeks have been the hardest of my life. They were long, filled with uncertainty and fear. Yet, through every sleepless night and every moment of worry, Lucas never once wavered. He was my rock, my strength. His presence was constant, and his unwavering belief in me and our daughter kept me going. When I had moments of doubt, he was there to remind me of the life we had brought into this world and how strong she was.

He never let me lose hope, and I believe, in a way, he encouraged our little one to keep fighting. It felt like his love was a force that helped her stay strong through all the hurdles.

As much as I longed to hold her in my arms, to care for her the way a mother should, I knew Lucas had been just as much a part of her journey. His strength was as vital as mine.

So, when the time came to name her, I knew what I wanted to do. I wanted him to choose. He had carried us both through the storm, and now, it felt right that he would give her a name. A name that would carry with it all the love and resilience he had shown in the last few weeks.

"You're the reason she's here, Lucas," I whispered one evening, my voice barely audible as I looked at him. "You've kept us going. She's a part of you, too."

He looked down at our daughter, a soft smile breaking through the tension on his face. "Then I'll give her the name she deserves," he replied, his voice full of quiet determination.

And I let him. Because I knew, deep down, that whatever name he chose for our daughter would be a symbol of the journey we had taken, together.

As I watched Lucas, my heart swelled with gratitude, knowing how much he had carried us through these past weeks. I had barely enough strength left to hold onto hope, but Lucas had been my unwavering pillar, my strength. When he looked at our daughter, I saw the same soft, determined look in his eyes that had kept me going.

"I'm naming her Liana," he said, his voice low, almost a whisper.

The words caught me off guard. I blinked, trying to process the weight behind them.

"Liana," he repeated, his gaze never leaving our little girl. "It means 'my light.' She's the light we never thought we'd have again. After all the darkness, she brought us back to life. She fought, just like you did, Akshi. She's our hope, our strength... Liana."

I could feel the warmth of his love in those words, a love so deep it enveloped me entirely. I nodded, tears blurring my vision as I smiled softly. "Liana... It's perfect. She is our light."

"Wow! The name is so beautiful and meaningful." Mom exclaimed happily. I smiled looking at her.

"It is, offcourse I chose it." Lucas replied with a mock tease. I chuckled softly.

"Now, enough of timepass. She must be tired, Lucas take both of them to room upstairs." Papa told Lucas.

Lucas nodded and took us both upstairs. I pushed open the door and smiled looking, as it is decorated with purple balloons. There was a small crib just beside our bed, I sighed in relief because I don't want her to leave in a separate room until she is atleast a year old.

"I knew you wouldn't want out daughter to be alone in other room, so I kept the crib in our room." He said and carefully placed Liana in the crib.

"Liana...when are you going to put her name on the birth certificate?" I asked as he made me sit on the bed, and placed the pillows behind my back for support.

"Tomorrow," I nodded.

"Rest now. I will be here." I nodded and I carefully laid down. He covered me with a blanket.
