Akshita's pov
Yesterday, we had a lot of fun. Advika was really happy, and I’m glad she enjoyed it with us. I still can’t believe I can call her mine—my daughter.
When I first found out about my complications, I never thought this day would arrive so soon. I mean, I always had the thought in my mind that we would adopt in the future, but not yet. But I’m happy that we’re taking this step.
I was standing on the balcony, thinking about all this when two strong arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me closer to his body. I giggled, feeling his warm breath on the crook of my neck.
"Hi, baby!" I sighed, leaning back onto him.
"Hi!" I murmured softly.
"Why are you up so early?"
"Didn’t feel sleepy, so I came out to watch the sunrise."
"Hmm," he hummed and nuzzled into my nape.
"Why did you wake up?"
"I couldn’t feel your presence."
I chuckled, "Really? I’ve been here for the last ten minutes."
He smiled sheepishly and hugged me tighter. I sighed and turned around in his arms.
"I love you."
"I love you too," he said, leaning down to kiss my forehead.
We stayed there, watching the sunrise together, wrapped in each other’s arms. This is what peace feels like — my happy place.
"Lulu bear? Akki?" I heard advika's distressed voice. We both immediately ran into the room and saw advika sitting on the bed looking around a little scared.
"Hey, sweetheart. I am here, Your Lulu bear is here." Lucas murmured soothingly, taking her in his arms and holding her close. Advika instantly clung to him, tiny hands fisting his shirt.
"I thought… I thought you both left," she whispered, voice shaky. Her little body trembled slightly in his embrace.
Lucas tightened his hold on her, kissing the top of her head. "We would never leave you, sunshine. Not ever," he assured softly, stroking her back gently.
I sat beside them, reaching out to brush Advika’s hair away from her face. "We’re right here, baby. Both of us."
Advika looked between them, eyes still glistening with fear. "Promise?"
"Promise," Lucas and I said in unison, exchanging a soft smile.
I leaned in and kissed Advika’s cheek. "How about we sleep a little longer, hmm? We’re not going anywhere, sweetie."
Advika nodded slowly and buried her face in Lucas’s chest, her tiny fingers relaxing slightly.
Lucas glanced at me, eyes filled with concern, and mouthed, "Stay?"
I nodded, lying down beside Advika and wrapping an arm around her. Lucas adjusted their positions until they were both comfortably settled back into bed, with Advika nestled securely between us.
The little girl’s breathing slowly evened out as she calmed down, her grip loosening. Lucas and I shared a glance over her head, silently promising that they’d always be there for her.

After the little incident in the dawn, we woke up a few hours later and got ready for the day. Lucas has taken leave from the office for few days, handing over his responsibility to Asher.
"Sunshine? Are you ready?" Lucas asked, entering the bedroom.
"Yes," Advika happily mumbled and ran to him.
