We both were finally married by the Hindu rituals. I looked at Lucas, who was busy looking at our gang. They were all fighting for the 'jutta chupai rasam'.
The girls were on my team while the boys were on Lucas's team. The bride's team had obviously won but the groom's side was doing 'nakhre.'
I was growing tired every passing seconds. I tiredly rested my head on his shoulder. He looked at me and then back at the gang.
"Guys, enough. Here's the money for the girl's side." Lucas finally handed the money to shivi di. They grinned and returned the money back.
"We don't want money ruhan Bhai, I just want you to take care of my beautiful, cute, little baby." I looked at shivu, teary eyed.
I ran towards her and cried hugging her. "You are so nice," I mumbled hiding my head in the crook of her neck. She held me and patted my head. I cried for a good few minutes and then pulled away.
"Sorry for being a crybaby." I told her. She shrugged it off.
"It's natural to feel this way baby, you carved love from family too. I know Lucas was there, his family was there but you needed someone who you could call as your family and I am happy I could be that for you." Rudra Bhai told.
"You are making me cry." I mumbled.
"Sorry, sorry, don't cry." He spoke hurriedly. I chuckled hearing his fast tone.
"It's time for going back to the hotel, we will leave early in the morning. Alright?" Lucas tells everyone and walked towards me.
"Yes sir. Let's go back. I know you are eager to be alone with your bride." Asher teased us.
"Shut up! Asher." Lucas yelled at Asher. Asher just laughed it off.
After some more banter, we all finally began our journey back to hotel. I was impatiently waiting for us to reach.....so I could get out of this heavy outfit and finally rest.
We walked towards the car, Lucas's hand resting protectively on the small of my back. My legs felt wobbly with exhaustion, but I couldn't help smiling at everyone around us.
Our friends were still in high spirits, chattering away, and teasing Lucas about the wedding night. He groaned every time Asher or Rudra said something cheeky, but I could see the small smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
As soon as we got into the car, Lucas let out a long sigh and gently lifted my hand to kiss it. "How are you holding up, Mrs. Moretti?" he asked, his voice soft yet playful.
I leaned back against the seat, feeling my body relax as the car started moving. "Tired, Mr. Moretti," I said with a teasing smile. "But happy."
He nodded, squeezing my hand. "Me too." Then his voice dropped lower, filled with warmth, "You were perfect today, Akshita. I couldn't stop looking at you."
