It's been a few months since Advika's birthday. I have been feeling a little out of weather for the last few weeks. I haven't told Lucas about my health or else he would get stressed for no reason. Our little advika was promoted to jr. kg with great marks. I am really very proud of her.

"Akshita, where are you lost? Where is the file I asked for?" Lucas spoke, bringing me out of my thoughts.

"Sorry, I forgot. Give me a moment. I will get back to you soon." I muttered and immediately ran downstairs to get the file from the Hr, of the marketing department.

Once I collected the file, I walked up to Lucas's cabin and knocked.

"Come in." I heard his soft yell. I walked in and handed him the file.

"You okay sweetheart?" He asked, holding my hands.

"Yeah, I am good." I smiled, trying to assure him.

"Sure?" I gave him a nod

"Okay, but if you don't feel good take a half day and go home."

"No, I want to pick up advika from school today."

"Great, I will ask the driver to not get her today but don't you want to go home?"

"Nope, will be staying here to work."

"Sure, baby?"

"Chill out! I will be fine." I muttered.

After a while, it was time to pick up Advika. Just thinking of her excitement lifted my spirits as I gathered my purse, informed Lucas, and headed out of the office.

When I arrived at her school, I stood by the entrance, waiting for her to appear. Soon, the bell rang, and a flood of students burst out, their laughter filling the air. I scanned the crowd, searching for her familiar face, but she was nowhere in sight.

Finally, I spotted her walking slowly, hand-in-hand with a boy her age. They seemed to be deep in conversation, and she hadn't yet noticed me. I watched as they made their way to the small garden in the school and sat on one of the benches.

Curious, I walked over, but as I got closer, I noticed a slight frown on her face- a sadness I wasn't used to seeing. Concern stirred in my chest, and I quickened my pace, gently calling her name as I approached.

Did someone said anything to her?

"Advi baby?" I gently called out her name and kneeled down. She looked at me and instantly her eyes brimmed with tears.

"Maa." She sobbed and crashed into my arms. I held her gently as she sobbed.

"What's wrong little star? Are you hurt?"

"Maa, that mean girl yell me." She muttered.

"Who girl?"

"Her name is harshita, she said mean words to advika." The boy told me, looking clearly angry.
