It's been a month since we brought Advika home. The trial period has been going better than we ever imagined. She's settling in beautifully, and every day feels like a small victory. Watching her adapt, laugh, and slowly come out of her shell has been nothing short of magical.
Each moment with her reassures us that this is exactly where she's meant to be and where we're meant to be as a family.
Today, however, Advika will be spending time with my parents. I've got three critical meetings lined up, and Akshita, being my secretary, is indispensable for the day.
The first two meetings are well-spaced, giving us ample time to regroup and prepare. However, the gap between the second and third meetings is a tight 15 minutes, leaving us barely any breathing room. It's going to be a hectic day, but with Akshita by my side, I know we'll manage.
The third meeting is at a restaurant, we will be discussing the hotel chains We planned to open in China with Mr. Wang.
__
I am stuck bad, this fucking oldie is taking lots of my time. The meeting should be over till now but he keeps on poking his nose and finding faults when there are none. I so wish to slam his head onto the table.
"Gentleman, give me a few minutes." I took akshita to a side.
"Baby, you need to handle Mr. Wang and his team for at least an hour." She looked at me wide eyed while I shrug helpless. "You need to, baby. I promise I will try to wrap this old bastard soon."
"Come soon, I will try and handle them."

I arrived at the restaurant. I was here to handle a group of high-profile clients on his behalf while he wrapped up another meeting. This wasn't my first time filling in for him, but the weight of representing him always felt heavy.
The clients were already seated when I arrived. After introductions and pleasantries, they requested to order Chinese food. My stomach churned slightly at the thought of soy sauce, but I pushed the discomfort aside. I couldn't risk offending them or jeopardizing the deal.
