(Marjorie's pov)

I woke up earlier than usual, with a weird feeling in my gut. I shake it off, and look over to my gorgeous blonde husband.
I place gentle kisses all over his face, and watch as his gorgeous ocean blue eyes flutter open, and a small smile already dancing on his lips.
"Sorry baby. I didn't mean to wake you, you just looked very kissable." I apologise.
"I don't even mind, it was a very nice way to wake up." he says, leaning up and kissing my nose.
"We still have an hour till the alarm will go off, what you wanna do?" I ask, and he smirks. "Not that Reece. It takes way more than an hour, and you know that. I can't be late, not like yesterday. Autumn will kill me, you still want a wife to come home to, right?" I question, and see him pout for a second, before sitting up. "What?"
"I love you." he says, leaning over and kissing my lips.
"I love you too." I mumble into the kiss.
"Shall we just cuddle?" he asks, pulling away.
"Yeah." I whisper, lying on top of him, pushing him back down on the bed.
"Not what I meant." he chuckles, but suddenly that weird feeling comes back.

I sit up, and he looks at me.
"Gorgeous?"
"Sorry darling. I've got this weird feeling in my gut. It normally only happens when something is going to go wrong." I explain to him, and he looks at me, puzzled.
"That's odd." is all he says, not knowing what else to say.
"Let's just get ready, I have work. Fortunately you don't, but I still do." I shake it off, climbing off him, and making my way to the wardrobe.

I pick out a white top, with some simple black trousers. I pull them on, before grabbing a pair of heels, and walking downstairs, placing the heels ready by the door, and walking into the kitchen.
Reece soon comes down, wearing his usual jeans, but this time a t-shirt, as opposed to his usual baggy hoodie.
"You look handsome today darling." I say, gently grabbing his jawline, forcing his face to look down at me, leaning up and kissing his lips. "Extremely handsome."
"Whoa now." he says, pulling back from me, "We don't have time for that now, do we? Later, I promise." he says, and I pout slightly, annoyed at him using my own words against me.
I turn around, and make myself some quick toast, before eating it, whilst Reece makes us some lunch.

He finishes, and I place my dish in the sink, making a note in my mind to wash it later.
I walk over to Reece, wrapping my arms tightly around his waist, burying my head deep into his back.
"I love you." I whisper.
"I love you too." he whispers back, turning around in my arms, kissing the top of my head.
"Believe it or not, we have to leave now." he says, and I shake my head into him.
"No."
"Yes."
"No. I have a weird feeling about today. I just want to stay at home with you, safe." I say, looking up at him.
"We are fine. Maybe you have a sickness coming on." he says, before taking my hand, and walking us to the door, point at my heels. "Come on, put them on."
"Fine." I sulk, before putting my heels on, and grabbing the car keys, and going outside, sitting in the car.
Reece soon joins, but doesn't say anything to me, opting to put his hand on my thigh instead.

We get to my nursery, and he looks over to me.
"Have a good day gorgeous. I'll be here to pick you up at 5. I love you."
"I love you too." I whisper back, connecting our lips in one final kiss, before climbing out the car.
I slowly drag my feet to the front door, turning around one last time to wave Reece off, and he drives out.
I walk into the office, thankfully alone, as Autumn is on the later shift, and it was just meant to be us two.
I sign into my computer, scanning over any late emails from last night, thankfully there are none.
I sit back in my chair, waiting for something to happen now, until I get that weird feeling back. No Marjorie, ignore it, Reece is right. It probably is nothing, maybe a sickness.
My thoughts are distracted by someone walking through the door.

"Morning Marjorie!" A bright and bubbly Charlotte says, a big smile beaming from ear to ear.
"Hiya my love. What has you in such a good mood this morning?"
"I think that would be me." Mia says, appearing from behind.
"Of course." I say, rolling my eyes.
Truthfully, I don't hate Mia. I see how happy she makes Char, and I could not thank her enough for that, as Char deserves it. But I have to keep up this 'rivalry', one for Mia's sake, she might die at the thought of us being friends, and two because it secretly is fun.
"Yep. Here to stay for good." My eyes widen, looking at Char, who is excitedly nodding her head.
"Well congrats? I mean, yay for Char, but I have to see you more often now?" I say, smirking at her.
"Thanks Marjie." Mia says, smirking back as she knows how much I hate that nickname.
They both swiftly exit, Mia earning herself an angry lecture from Char.

I was deep in paperwork, when I get pulled out by a phone call.
"Hello the nursery."
"Hi Marjorie." Autumn answers.
"Aut? You okay? It's only..." I check my watch. "Oh wait it's 11am. Is everything okay?"
"I've not long woken up. I'm not very well. I don't think I can come in today." she explains, occasionally stopping to cough.
"Yeah, you don't sound it. Stay off, recover. I'll be fine here." I say, and she thanks me, before heading up the call.

*

It's just after lunch, and now I have that weird feeling in my gut again. Except this time it's not going away, no matter what I do.
I can't stand it anymore, I need to be safe at home with Reece.
I call Mia.
"Mia."
"Marjie. To what do I owe this call?"
"I need you to come in and cover me. My deputy's are either all on annual leave, or sick. And you are the only other person I trust to run my nursery." I explain.
"I'm flattered. But is everything okay?" she asks, and for a second it sounds like actual concern. "Not that I care."
"Just really don't feel well." I say, hoping she can't tell how obvious I'm lying.
"Okay. I'll be 15."
"Thanks." I say, before hanging up.

*

Exactly 15 minutes later, Mia walks in.
"Hiya Mia. Thank you so much." I say, whisky I gather my things.
"No problem. Is Reece coming to get you?" she asks, as I stand up out my chair, letting Mia sit down in it.
"Yeah I called him after you." I say, my gaze travelling to the window, watching as he pulls in. "In fact, there he is now. I'll see you whenever Mia." I throw over my shoulder, walking out the office, as I get a call.

"Hiya baby. Just got here." Reece says down the phone.
"I've just seen." I say, exiting the front door, whilst I get a text through. "Hold up, just got a text." I say to him, switching to speaker, as I look at it, making my way over to the car.
I decide it's not important. "Sorry darling. It's not-" I don't even get to finish my sentence, before hearing skidding, and as I turn my head, a car comes full speed towards me, giving me no time to move.
I hear Reece scream my name, and then someone holding my hand. I try and keep my heavy eyes open, and I feel a soft kiss being pressed to my forehead.
I can't hold my heavy eyes open anymore, and finally, feeling comfort and warmth around me, I let them close, darkness now surrounding me.

(Reece's pov)

"She's what?" I question again, tears pouring down my face.
"She's in a bad way. We are taking her for emergency surgery." the nurse repeats, gently rubbing the side of my arm. "Reece she is gonna pull through, she's a fighter."
"I know. She will, she has to. I need her, she is my fresh air, the reason I hold on." I say, finally collapsing into the chair behind, letting everything go.
"She will. Is there anyone you want me to call for you?" she asks.
"Call this number." I say, pulling up a contact and handing it to Viv.

"Hiya. This is Vivian, from the hospital. No Reece is okay, well physically. He asked me to call you. Yes. Okay. Thank you." she says, hanging up and passing the phone back to me. "She's gonna leave soon, she is caught up with all the parent commotion."
"Thanks Vivian." I whisper, placing my head in my hands.

* A few hours later*

Someone runs through the door, and I lift my head. There I am greeted by the redhead, her brunette girlfriend shortly behind her.
"Reecey, there was so many parents, and then traffic, sorry." she says, as she makes her way in front of me, crouching down, pulling my hands away from my face. "Look at me." I look into her eyes. "She is a fighter. She will pull through. Marjorie will do it, she is-" she is soon interrupted.
"Reece." Viv says, not letting anything give away what is going on.
"Vivian?" I say panicked, standing up immediately, Mia soon following, going to stand by her girlfriend, gripping onto her tight.
Vivian doesn't reply.
"What??! Tell me!" I yell out, my emotions taking the better of me.
"No one already told you?"
"Told me what?" I ask, now shaking, fearing the worst. Mia comes and stands next to me, holding my arm, trying to ground me.
"She's-"

A/N: Okay sorry about the cliffhanger, just been a really shitty day, and I had my first panic attack in a week, and it was bad, and I missed my spoken language exam. So I was in the mood to write something truly sad, I am sorry (not really).
But, finally liking feeling motivated enough to write chapters for all you lucky lot, so that's something.
Also, not proofread!
Anyways, who knows when part 2 will be out, but look after yourselves, love you all <333
