Marjorie had fallen asleep on the sofa, hair clinging to her wet, tear streaked cheeks. She didn't mean to, she would never willingly sleep before her and her husband had made up. But she was exhausted from everything,

Reece slowly walked in the room, ready to apologise. But when he saw Marjorie was asleep, his anger rose again. He didn't know why, his wife was so peaceful when she slept. But the fact that she went to sleep before they made up, that made Reece seethe.

He stormed out the living room, going to the bedroom and closing the door. If Marjorie wanted to play this game, he would play.

They spent the night apart, and when morning rolled around, Reece was up already, working on getting himself ready for work.
Marjorie slowly woke, pushing hair out her face and rubbing sleep from her eyes. She climbed off the sofa, making her way upstairs to get ready for work.

She opened the bedroom door, being greeted by a mess. Reece was still as angry as yesterday. He had thrown clothes around the room, digging through the wardrobe to find something to wear.
Once he realised Marjorie was there, he just glared at her, grabbing his clothes for the day and leaving the room. The brunette just ignored it, tidying the clothes on the floor back into the wardrobe, before finding herself an outfit for work.

They got dressed separately, ate breakfast separately, did everything separately. Marjorie hated it, she hated it so much.
Reece, on the other hand, was too angry to know anything else. He knew that secretly, he wanted nothing more than to hug and kiss his wife, to hold her and be with her. But he was too angry to say.

The final straw came when Reece just left the house. He was ready so he just left. Marjorie scrambled to get her shoes on, not wanting to make Reece late, only to open the door to find him driving off. He had gotten in the car and just gone.
Marjorie had it. That was it.

"Reece!" She yelled as she stormed into the nursery. Thankfully it was early enough there were no children, and only a few other staff members.
"What now?" Reece rolled his eyes as the brunette walked into the office.
"You! You are just a bastard. First you make a mess of the bedroom, one I have to clean up! Then, you refuse to talk to me this morning! And after all that, you fucking drive off this morning without me! What are you playing at?!"
"I'm allowed to be my own person Marjorie. I don't know why you're acting as if we have to do everything together," Reece replied calmly, only making it worse for himself.
"You don't get it! You don't fucking get it! I was trying to apologise and make up to you all fucking morning! I didn't mean to fall asleep, but I was exhausted! I was so drained! I was going to talk to you this morning, and you acted like I was a nasty disease you were avoiding! Reece, I tried. I really tried," Marjorie says, her voice sounding broken towards the end.
"Marjorie. Your shift starts in 10 minutes. You're covering in the rooms. Go get yourself ready."
"That's all you say to me? Reece, seriously make up your mind. I'm not going to be in a one-sided marriage. Figure out if you want this or not, let me know by the end of today," Marjorie responded, walking out the office.

Reece sat there, staring into nothing. he didn't know why he told Marjorie that, he didn't know why he said any of it. He just wanted to go and hold her, to love and kiss her. He didn't know why he wasn't saying it out loud. He loved her.

"Reece?" Mia knocked on the door.
"Yes?"
"Don't mess it up with Marj. She is the best thing you'll get. She is sweet, kind and caring. She just needs the communication. She doesn't want to end up in a divorce like her parents. She doesn't want it to be like that. She really cares for you, I know because she told me after we had drinks one night. It is sickening how much she adores you. Just tell her how you feel, tell her you're sorry. Just, don't mess it up. That would be real stupid of you," Mia said, her voice dead serious, she knew Reece needed to take her seriously and actually hear her.
"I won't Mia. I don't want to lose her. I love her so much. All I've wanted to do is hold her, but for some reason I'm still angry at her for our little spat last night. I don't know what to say."
"Actions speak louder than words Reece. On her break, go up to her and just hug her, or kiss her. Whatever, just do it. You don't have to speak yet, just that will do."
