(Marjorie's pov)

4 slow knocks on the office door. Two seconds between each one. Our secret signal.
"Come in," I call out, and watch as he slowly walks in, scanning my office to see if Autumn is in with me.
"Hey you," he says, realising I'm alone.
"Hey," I respond, and can feel my cheeks flushing red, and I try and hide it.
Reece notices, and walks over, leaning over my desk, lifting my chin up.
"Don't hide. You look so pretty, even more when you are nervous," he says, leaning in and gently kissing my lips, which I gladly kiss back into.

Just at that moment, we are interrupted by a noise. Someone clearing their throat. I break from Reece's lips, and my eyes are wide. I recognise that person, and it's not good.
"Marjorie," Autumn calls out, and Reece's eyes also go wide, scanning over my face, trying to silently reassure me that it would all be fine. I don't take mine off his, too scared to look at Autumn.
"Marjorie," Autumn repeats, and I can feel her glare.
I finally break my eyes from Reece's, and he lets go of my chin, as I turn my head to look at Autumn.
"Heyyy Autumn," I awkwardly reply, fiddling with my bracelets. Reece moves around, and stands behind me, placing his hands on the back of my chair.
"Big brother," Autumn looks up to Reece, her glare only sharpening.
"Little sis," Reece responds in the same tone as her.
"Marjorie, really? Out of everyone, him?" she questions, looking back down to me, but gesturing to Reece.
"Yes," I reply, looking down at the floor, my voice barely above a whisper.
"My brother!" Autumn yells, and I can feel the tears stinging my eyes.
"I'm sorry," I whisper.
"My own fucking brother Marjorie!" she yells again, and I can't stop the tears falling, I can't deal with someone yelling at me, I hate it, especially my best friend.
"I'm sorry okay?! I just fell in love with him!" I snap back, getting up and shoving past her, running out the office.

(Reece's pov)

"I'm sorry okay?! I just fell in love with him!" she snaps back, getting up and shoving past her, running out the office, leaving Autumn very shocked.
"Great. Well done Autumn," I say sarcastically, my anger slowly rising, she upset the woman I lo- the woman I'm dating.
"Seriously Reece! She is my best friend, and got with my brother! My brother!" Aut yells, defensively throwing her arms around.
"So what?!" I yell back.
"My brother Reece!! She's meant to be my best friend!" she yells.
"If she's your best friend, why does it matter?!" I yell back, and she goes to answer, then stops, not sure on what to say.

"It matters because... because I don't want to see her get hurt again," Aut finally responds, looking down at the floor.
"She won't," I say softly, lowering my voice down.
"How do I know?" Aut asks.
"Because I love her Autumn. She is the first woman, and the only woman, I've ever felt this way about. I fall so deep in love with her more and more everyday. I love that woman with every cell in my body Autumn. She is perfectly safe with me," I tell her, not meaning for it all come pouring out.
"You won't hurt her?" Autumn asks, looking up at me.
"I would never dream of it," I tell her, and she nods her head, walking over to me, and out of nowhere hugs me.
"Look after her, she is the best thing that will ever happen to you," Autumn whispers, and I silently agree, knowing I can't do better.

I finally realise what I said, and I slightly gasp, letting go of Autumn.
"What's wrong Reece?" Autumn questions, looking up with concern.
"I-I love her," I mumble out.
"Yeah, you said that, multiple times?" she says confused, until finally realising, a small gasp escaping her lips, "You haven't told her yet?"
"No I haven't. I thought it was too soon, that if I said it she might leave, like mum," I say quietly, sitting down in Marjorie's chair, placing my head in my hands.
"Oh Reece," she says, bending down to my level, "She is not going to leave you, not like mum."
"But what if she does?" I ask, a few silent tears roll down my face, "What if I'm in over my head? What if she is just looking for something non-serious? What if-"
"Stop 'what-ifing' Reece. You'll never know if you never try. Shall I go get her, and you can tell her, and prove that she isn't going to leave," Autumn suggests, and I just nod, not trusting that if I open my mouth, I might start crying.
Autumn just nods back at me, returning her hands to her pockets, and walking out the room to find Majorie.
