Leaving

TW: panic attacks

(Marjorie's pov)

"Reece, you can't!" I yell at him, grabbing his arm and pulling him back, trying to stop him leaving.
"I can Marjorie! I have to, I can't stay here anymore!" Reece yells back, smacking my hand off him.
"Please! I love you! We can make it work! Is it me?! I can change! Please, you said you'd never leave! You'd said we are forever!" I yell, tears falling down my face.
"Marjorie! We aren't forever! I have to leave! I don't love you anymore! I can't stay, it's not good for either of us! I'm going! Take care of yourself Marjorie, I'm sorry," he yells at first, but his voice softens on the last sentence, before he walks out the door, slamming it in my face as tears flow.
Why? What happened? I didn't do anything wrong. I loved him. I gave him my everything and he clearly didn't love back.

Silence. All I can hear is my panting, as a thin layer of sweat covers my body.
Reece left? No, it was a nightmare, surely? I take a few deep breaths, get my breathing back in control first.
Reece wouldn't leave you Marjorie, he loves you, he always will, he'll never leave you, I keep telling myself.
I look down next to me, but I don't see anyone next to me in the bed.
It's the dark, he's definitely still here. He wouldn't leave me. He loves me, I'm just panicking.
I try and tap around the bed, reaching out to see if I can feel him, just to calm me down. But there's nothing. He really isn't here. Oh my god. It wasn't a dream? He actually left.

I jump out the bed, running downstairs with my phone. I can't stay in that bed, it reminds me too much of him.
I dial a number, hear it ring a few times before someone picks up.
"Marj?"
"Aut! He left me! He actually did!" I cry over the phone to her.
"Marjorie calm down. Who left?" she questions.
"Reece! He left me Autumn! He's no... he's... he...." it suddenly got a lot harder to breathe, I can't even get a sentence out.
"Marj? Marjorie!? Talk to me, what's going on?" Aut panics over the phone.
"I.. I ju.... Aut.... P..p...p...please.... c-can't breathe....." my breathing is fast, and I start shaking.
"I'm on my way Marjorie, hang on for me. If you can, unlock the door so I can get in." I do what she says.
"D-Done."
"Now go sit down for me, just sit somewhere in the living room." I follow what she says again, sitting on the sofa.

"Okay Marjorie are you sure Reece isn't at home?" she questions, her voice calm as I can hear a car starting up in the background.
"H-He wasn't b-b-beside me in b-bed. I c-checked," I stutter through my tears.
"Are you 100% sure?"
"Y-yes," I cry down the phone.
"Okay Marjorie, take some deep breaths. It's okay, I'm on my way, I just need you to breathe for me."
"O-Okay," I reply, trying to take some deep breaths, when I feel a hand on my shoulder, causing me to scream.
"MARJ!?" Autumn yells down the phone, but in my panic, I drop my phone and rush to the other side of the room.
"Hey Aut," Reece picks up my phone.

"Reece?! I'm so confused? Is Marjorie okay? That was the worst scream I've ever heard!" Autumn panics down the phone to Reece.
"I think I scared her, she's panicking," Reece says, just as confused.
"Yeah of course she is! She thought you left, you idiot! She thought you left her, your side of the bed was empty! Right I'm almost at yours," Autumn explains to Reece.
"Yeah, because I just went to the toilet. I came back, the bed was empty, and I could hear sobs from downstairs."
"Just let me in."
Reece walks to the front door, opening it as Autumn pulls into the driveway.

"Where is she?" she asks as she climbs out her car.
"Living room. I'm still so confused," Reece says.
"Well work it out for yourself stupid. I gave you the main details, you are smart enough to figure the rest out," she says as she shoves past him, making her way into the living room.

"Hey Marj, it's me Aut, can you hear me?" I hear her softly ask, kneeling down in front of me, where I had slid my back down the wall until I hit the floor, my knees tight against my chest.
I nod in response to her question, not feeling able to get my words out.
"Okay, I need you to breathe with me, can you do that for me?" I nod again. "Okay well done. Right let's just take a deep breath in through your nose..... hold..... and out through your mouth. I'm proud of you, you're doing so well. Let's try that again, okay?" I nod once more, trying my hardest to focus on her voice and my breathing. "Okay, good. Breathe in through your nose..... hold it...... and out through your mouth, well done, it seems to be easing," she says, but as soon as I look up to see her, my eye catches Reece in the background, making me panic. "Hey, hey. It's okay, look at me. You're safe, okay? You are with me, you're safe, I have you. Nothing can get to you, I'm with you, you're safe," she repeats, taking deep breathes in and out as I copy, not tearing my eyes off hers. "Good girl, keep looking at me, don't look anywhere else. You are doing so well, I'm proud of you," Autumn whispers.
We keep breathing together until I've calmed down.

"Thanks Autumn," I sniffle.
"It's more than okay Marj, I'll always come running. What do you want to do?" she smiles at me softly, and not a fake one, a real one.
"First, can someone please fill me in?" Reece asks from across the room, making me glare at me.
"Piss off you bastard," I spit out at him, feeling my anger bubbling.
"What? I haven't done anything." Reece throws his hands up in defence, as I slowly stand up and move closer to him.
"You left," I punctuate the end of my sentence by poking my finger hard into his chest.
"No I didn't?"
"You know you did."
"Marj, hear hi-"
"Shut up Autumn," I glared back at her, before turning back to Reece. "This was the last straw. I forgave the little things, you know like being late home from work every night, I told myself it's normal, it's a nursery, I'm home late a lot as well. I forgave you for not wanting to go out with me anymore, maybe you just need space. I even forgave you for forgetting our anniversary, which was the dumbest thing I could do. But leaving me here worried, that's it! I can't with you Reece Knight! You're so selfish! You only care about yourself, it's never about me, clearly it's about some other person who is taking up your mind! I'm done with this! Take this, I'm leaving!" I scream at him, shoving him back until his back hits the wall. I pull the ring off my finger and shove it into his hand, before walking upstairs to grab my stuff.

"Marjorie! Stop! Please don't leave me! We can work this out!" Reece follows me, yelling at me as I refuse to listen to him.
"No Reece! I've made up my mind! You've pushed me too much, I've been too blindsided by my love for you that I didn't realise that you're actually an arse! I'm leaving!" I yell back at him, deciding to just grab my phone, car keys, and a hoodie, now is not the best time for all the rest, I can come back another day to pack the rest up.

I rush back downstairs, Reece still following, but Autumn is blocking the door.
"Marjorie you don't want to do this," she speaks calmly, despite the situation.
"Get out of my way Autumn, I will hit you, and I will hit you hard," I glare at her, and she moves, clearly not wanting to take the chance.
I open the door and walk out, but a hand grabs my wrist.
"DON'T TOUCH ME YOU BASTARD!" I scream, turning around and slapping them around the face, their grip loosing off my wrist.
"Gorgeous, please, I love you," Reece cries, his hand holding his red cheek.
"No you don't! Don't ever call me that again. We are over. I'm leaving! Goodbye Reece," I say to him, before walking off down the driveway, trying my best to ignore the cries from him, and the yelling from Autumn.

This one was a fun one to write, no one knew what was coming, and I'm giggling right now it's insane. How are we all? Hoping everyone is doing well and okay.
Sorry for not uploading sooner, I was planning to get something out sooner but I've been deleting a lot of chapters as I feel like my writing is getting worse at the moment so I've tried my best, I have had the best motivation from one person though, so thank you to her, she is one of my favs, love you Lily82578 , for all the motivation you've given me, you're the reason this chapter is out!
