(Reece's pov)

I slowly wake up, and am met with a cold, and empty bed.
I sit up, looking around, adjusting to the light coming through the curtains. I climb out of bed, quickly popping to the bathroom, before walking back into the bedroom, until I hear giggling from downstairs.
I smile to myself, teaching my arms wide, yawning and then heading downstairs.

I find Marjorie in the kitchen, standing next to Ceci, who is sat on the kitchen counter.
"Shhh bug. We don't want to wake papa." I hear Marjorie quietly say to her, placing a finger over her lips.
"Shhhh mama." Ceci repeats back, before spotting me in the doorway.
I bring my finger up to my lips, and she nods her head, bringing her finger up to her lips.
I walk over to Marjorie, who is finishing making some pancakes.
I stand just behind her, letting her plate the last pancake up, and put everything down. I seize my opportunity, and slide my hands around her waist, pulling her close into my chest.
I feel her tense up immediately, then relaxing after a few moments.

"Hey baby." I whisper into her ear.
"Don't scare me like that Reece." she says, but fully relaxing into my touch now.
"Sorry baby. How'd you sleep?" I ask her.
"Fine. You?"
"It was alright, just a bit of a shock when I woke up alone." I say, kissing her neck.
"Sorry. Little girl here was hungry." she says, gesturing to Ceci.
"Of course. Good morning bug." I say, letting go of Marjorie, moving to Ceci, kissing her nose, and lifting her up into my arms.
"Morning papa." she says, wrapping her arms around my neck in a hug, shortly releasing after.
"You sleep okay bug?" I ask.
"Mhm. Comfy." she responds, nodding her head.
"That's good. Now, mama seems to have made some yummy breakfast, shall we eat?" I question.
"Yes!" she squeals, and I walk her over to her seat, placing her down.

Marjorie follows, placing a small plate with one pancake, which she had torn into small bits, in front of Ceci, before handing me a plate.
"Thank you baby." I say, kissing her cheek.
"Yeah, fanks mama." Ceci says, eating her plate.
"Come sit baby. You not eating?" I say, sitting down on a chair. Marjorie walks over, and sits down on my lap.
"No, not hungry." she mumbles, looking over to Ceci.
I cut a small piece of my food off, and hold the fork up to her mouth.
"Reece I-"
"I know you're hungry, you forget I know you well Mrs Knight. We can talk later, when there isn't a child in front of us, but for now, I would like for you to eat something, especially if everyone is coming over today." I say to her, and she sighs in defeat, before opening her mouth, and eating.
"Not bad if I say so myself." she laughs.
"They are very yummy gorgeous. Aren't they bug?" I say to Ceci, who nods her head in agreement.
"Yum mama." she mumbles out.
"Thank you both." she says.
I finish my breakfast, managing to get Marjorie to eat two more bites. I grab Ceci's plate from in front of her, whilst Marjorie takes her upstairs to get her changed, as it wasn't long until people would be arriving.

I am about to follow them up when Marjorie's phone starts ringing. I see it's Aut, so I pick it up, then slowly making my way to find Marjorie.
"Marjorie! Are you okay?! That text! You can't scare me like that. Please talk to me. Tell me what's on your mind?" Aut panics.
"Aut?" I question.
"Reece? I did call Marjorie right?" she asks, equally as confused as me.
"Yeah, it is her phone." I say.
"Okay good. Wait. Why did you pick up? Is she okay? Do you know what's going on?" she panics once more.
"She is upstairs with our daughter."
"Okay good. As long as she is okay." Autumn breaths a sigh of relief.
"What's going on with her? She refused to eat this morning. And you mentioned a scary text?" I question, hoping to get something out of her.
"Something isn't right. She text me last night, saying she wasn't sure what to do anymore, and then disappeared. I don't know what exactly she was referring to, but I got worried." She agrees that something is wrong, but all I can think about is that text.
"We'll see you in a bit." I say, hanging up the phone, before walking upstairs.
