"Hey you," he says, walking into the office.
"Reece. Finally," she sighs, getting up from behind her desk and running to him, flinging her arms around his neck.
"Whoa. Gorgeous? You okay?" He questions, incredibly confused and concerned.
"Hold me," she mumbles.
"I've got you. I'm not going anywhere, nor am I letting go. You're safe with me," he comforts her, one hand holding her close by her waist, the other stroking through her hair, in an attempt to relax and calm her. He slowly walks them to the sofa in the office, sitting them down. She makes herself comfy cuddled into his side, sniffles occasionally coming from her.

"You okay there baby?"
"I'm so done," she mumbles.
"Done? With what gorgeous? What's happened today?" He questions.
"M-Mia... s-she s-so mean," she cries, her voice wobbling and her chest rising unevenly.
"Oh baby. I'm so sorry. She can be a terror at times," he says, rubbing up and down her side.
"S-She calls me n-names. I hate her. A-And the parents."
"I know sweet girl. I know. Before we continue let's take a few deep breaths. Get your breathing back, steady again. Come on... in.... hold for 1..2..3..4... and out. Well done gorgeous. Just a few more with me... you can do it. In.... hold... and out, there we go. You're doing amazing, I love you," he walks her through it, talking to her softly and calmly.
"I'm really sorry."
"Don't apologise at all baby, it's okay. You allowed to have a wobble. Do you want to explain to me what happened, with a few more words this time?" He laughs, trying to lighten the mood slightly.

"Mia was so rude today. I don't know what she was on at all. She kept calling me names, and juts making fun of me for apparently my overall incompetence and then the parents would just restate everything she said and be all rude too and I just don't know how much more I can take of it all day long-"
"Gorgeous, gorgeous. Take a breath. It's okay," he interrupted, as much as he didn't want to be had to stop her ranting that wouldn't stop, which was only panicking Marjorie more.
"Sorry," she mumbles.
"It's okay, you don't have to apologise. I just don't want you stressing yourself out and getting worked up." She just looks up at him, her eyes soft, filled with hurt but also love. "I know sweet, I know," he smiles down at her, kissing her lips softly.
"I really do love you," she whispers.
"I really do love you," he replies, kissing her lips again.

"Can we go home?" She asks.
"Of course we can my gorgeous girl. Let's get home, have some food and then we can cuddle in bed. Does that sound okay?" She nods her head, her eyes slightly fluttering and she feels a yawn coming, suppressing it as she attempts to hide it from Reece. "I saw it silly, which is even more of a reason to get you home."

He leads her out of the office, and to the car. He tells her to wait inside, and he runs back in to grab her stuff, log her off the computer and lock up the nursery. By the time he gets back to the car, she is lightly snoring, her eyes gently shut.
"Oh baby, please don't go to sleep, you won't sleep later," he whispers, gently patting her arm.
"Hmm? What?" Her eyes snap open, and she looks at him.
"Don't fall asleep gorgeous. You need to have some food first," he explains.
"I'll try."

Once they arrive home, Marjorie takes a few seconds before getting out the car, dawdling to the front door sleepily.
"Reecey?"
"Yes gorgeous?"
"Can I please go to bed? I'm so tired. I wanna cuddle you in bed," she begs, tears brimming her eyes, her exhaustion taking over her emotions.
"I'm so sorry baby. I need you to eat something first. I promise afterwards you can sleep." He felt his heart ripping at having to tell her no to something she so desperately wanted and needed, but it was better that she ate something first.
"No fair," she says, her voice all wobbly, a few tears fall as she storms past him into the house.
He shakes his head slightly, sighing before walking inside. Reece knew it was going to happen, she was tired, hungry, overwhelmed and mentally exhausted. And he was fine with her taking it out on him, in a way it was a compliment, it meant she trust him enough to do that.

He makes his way to the kitchen, letting Marjorie cool off in the living room. He makes a start on dinner, just a simple tomato pasta for them. One of Marjorie's comfort meals, which is what she needed.
He cooks everything up, making sure to keep one ear out to listen, in case Marjorie falls asleep.
"Gorgeous! It's done!" He calls out.
He watches as she walks into the kitchen, completely ignoring him, serving herself a bowl and going to eat at the dining table. She sniffles a lot, clearly she had been crying.
Reece doesn't push, he just serves himself some food, and going to sit at the other end of the table. She would come to him when she was ready, he was not going to overwhelm her with anything else.

They finish eating, but the house is still filled with an eerie silence. Marjorie is the first to get up, she walks over to him, grabs his empty bowl, stacks it on hers and walks over to the sink, putting them in. This told Reece that she has started to calm down, but not fully.
She looked to him, then to the floor, back to him once more before she walked out the room, her heart heavy.

Marjorie carried on up the stairs, her head hung low. She had been a bit of a dick to Reece, he had done nothing but be there and help and she got angry at him and refused to talk to him. But then again, she was so overwhelmed and overstimulated, she needed to cool off.
She changes from her work clothes into her night ones. A pair of Reece's boxers and one of his oversized band t-shirts. All her comfort in an outfit.
She looked it Reece's side of the bed, it was empty. She didn't like it.

"Reece?" She calls out to him. He comes up the stairs, knowing she had calmed back down now, she was a bit less overwhelmed.
"Hey gorgeous. You okay?" He says, walking over to her, but leaving space in between them. She makes the first move, walking over to him, looking up. She wraps her arms around his neck, pressing her body against his.
"You're warm," she mumbles.
"Thanks? I don't know if that's an insult or a compliment," he laughs.
"I like the warmth you give. It's comforting, protecting and familiar. I really like it."
"Okay so a compliment. Well then, thank you very much," he says, pulling back a little, just enough to be able to kiss her cheek.
"No," she mumbles, shaking her head.
"No?"
"Not my cheek. Not there," she says, leaning up and kissing his lips.
"Oh right," he mumbles against hers, pulling her closer by her waist.

They part, and Marjorie has a pout on her face.
"Look, someone was mad at me earlier because she couldn't go to sleep then," he says.
"I'm sorry," she whispers, letting go of his neck, trying to turn around and walk to the bed.
"No baby, you are staying right here," he pulls her back in by her waist. "I know you're sorry, and all has been forgiven. Truthfully? I forgave you the moment you got angry. I knew it wasn't at me, and so it was easy to forgive. I was never really that mad at you anyway."
"I'm still sorry. I didn't mean it."
"I know, but don't worry about it at all. Right, let's get you madam to bed. Come on then," he says, leading her to the bed.

They get settled in bed, Marjorie cuddling up into Reece's side.
"I love you handsome," she smiles up at him, her eyes sleepy.
"I love you more baby."
