Reece slowly walked into the office, not sure what he was walking in on. He saw Autumn standing there, her hand raised. Marjorie was underneath, fear in her eyes.
"Aut! Get away from her!" Reece ran in, standing in front of Autumn and slightly shoving her backwards. "What in the world?"
"She just- Ugh!" She screamed, storming out of the office.

"Marjorie?" Reece questioned, turning around to face his wife.
"You alright Reece?"
"What happened? I just walked in on that. What happened?" Reece said.
"Nothing much my love. She just got angry, and she lashed out. My cheek doesn't even hurt that bad," Marjorie brushed off.
"Your cheek?" Reece walked around the desk, his hands cupping her face, checking her over for injuries. "Gorgeous, your cheek is super red and it has to be sore."
"It's nothing. I'm fine," she whispered, looking him in the eyes. "I'll be okay."
"I'm going to find Autumn," Reece said, kissing his wife before heading out the office.

Reece walked down the corridors, checking in each empty room, just in case. He went up to the staff room, and pushed the door open, hearing voices inside.
Autumn was sat there on a chair, with Winter kneeling in front of her, trying to comfort her as best he could.
"Aut, talk to me," Winter spoke quietly and calmly.
"Winter. Autumn."
"Reece. Can you help? She came running in here, and was in a panic. I managed to sit her down, but she won't say anything," Winter explained, turning to someone who knew Autumn better than anyone.
"I know what happened. Autumn, you have some explaining to do," Reece said, sitting down in a chair near the couple. "Look, I actually don't know what happened. Marjorie hasn't said a thing to me, she said it's all fine. But she also has a huge red mark on her cheek, and I walked in to see you with a raised hand. I need you to tell me what happened, please."

Autumn looked between her older brother and her husband, taking a deep breath.
"Reece, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to. I was okay one second, and the next she pushed me. She kept going on and on about some stupid thing, and parents kept coming in and complaining because it was prime pick up time. And Marjorie made a comment about mother, and I just snapped. I feel so bad, I don't know how it escalated, and I wish it didn't. She probably hates me," Autumn explained, her leg bouncing up and down with her anxiety.
"Thank you for saying something. She doesn't hate you, she lied to me for you. You are her best friend, and she loves you. You just need to go down there and apologise to her."
"Winter, will you come with me?" Autumn's voice broke slightly.
"Of course my sweet. Let's go."

Reece walked slowly behind his sister, knowing he needed to be there for both his wife and his sister.
Autumn knocked on the office door, entering slowly. Marjorie turned around, seeing Autumn making her slightly tense up.
"Oh, hi Autumn."
"Marjorie, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to. I snapped after you said something about my mum. I'm really sorry, it's not fair. I never wanted to be a violent person like that towards people I know, especially my best friend. I hate myself for it, please forgive me," Autumn explained, not being able to look Marjorie in the eye.
"It's alright my love. Don't worry. I know you didn't mean it, and I had a feeling that I may have possibly said or done something to push it. I never blamed you, I am sorry," Marjorie replied, walking over to Autumn to give her a hug, which was very reciprocated. "Now my love, it is after hours. Head home with Winter now, and just rest for this evening. Have a good weekend and I'll see you guys Monday, yeah?"
"See you on Monday Marjorie."

Reece watched Marjorie's face drop after Autumn left the office, picking up on her low mood.
"Gorgeous, you alright?"
"My cheek actually does kinda hurt," she whispered, holding back tears.
"I know. It's okay, I'm not surprised. Autumn can hit hard. Come here." Marjorie walked over to her husband, embracing him. Reece wraps his hands tightly around her waist, pulling her close. She held on tightly around his neck, needing the closeness of the comfort he gave her. "How about we go home? We can just relax in bed or wherever."
"I'd like that," Marjorie mumbled, letting go of him to grab her stuff. Reece took one more look of her cheek, seeing it was less red now it had time to calm down. "I'm okay. Let me grab my bag and then we can go."

Marjorie sat close to Reece on the sofa, her arm wrapped around his as she lent into his side. He held her hand, his silent way of letting her know that he was there for her.
"You wouldn't hit me, would you?" Marjorie spoke up.
"No gorgeous. I would never think of that, in any way. You could do anything to me, and that would never cross my mind."
"Not even if I brought up your mum? Not even when everything is overwhelming and there is so much going on?"
"Marjorie, I would never lay a hand on you in a violent way. Ever. I swear on everything in life, I promise," Reece confirms, squeezing her hand three times. She squeezed back, before letting go and getting up. "Where are you going?"
"Upstairs to get into something comfier. Come with?" She replied, holding her hand out.
"Always."

The couple walked upstairs, a comfortable silence lingering. They went through their evening routine together, both of them getting into comfy clothes and getting ready to just chill out.
Marjorie rid herself of makeup, tying her hair up in a low ponytail, keeping it out of the way. She exited the bathroom, seeing her husband already lying on the bed.

"Damn look at you, so beautiful," Reece commented, smirking slightly at his wife.
"Thank you baby, I try my best," Marjorie replied, winking at him.
"You are effortlessly stunning gorgeous, don't pretend you don't know."
Marjorie slid into bed next to him, cuddling up into his body, her head lying on his chest.
"Reece you know I love you right?"
"Of course gorgeous. And I love you, so very much," he replied, leaning down to kiss her. "So much."

Hello everyone! It's been a while since I last wrote here, but I finally have pieced together a chapter. Some parts are rushed, and it may be less good than my others, but I wanted to get something out.

Happy New Year to everyone!! 2026 is hopefully going to be better than the last! I wish everyone the best year to come, and I wish everyone the best time finishing any holiday celebrations.

I wanted to ask something from you guys. I wanted to know if you guys do still like these oneshots, and if you read my other popular book, if you like those oneshots. I am struggling with my writing and I have been having self doubt with my ability to write, and I know they have been less good recently. I wanted to see if you guys still like reading them, and if you still want to see more from me in the new year. Please do let me know, as your feedback will help me know if I continue to write.

As always, I hope you all enjoyed. I will see you in the next one, look after yourselves, love you all!!
