Rough day

There was a lump in her throat, a twist in her chest. Everything felt heavy, and she was exhausted. The front she had been putting up was slowly fading away as she drove home. It had been an exhausting and rough day. She couldn't wait to break when she finally got home.

Reece had been waiting for his wife all day, seeing as he had the day off. Marjorie had sounded off in the little texts that she had sent, and he was getting increasingly worried.

The keys turned in the door, and Reece jumped up off the bottom step. Marjorie just looked up at him, sighed, and carried on into the house, putting her keys and bag down by the door, making her way past her husband and up the stairs, not saying anything.
Reece stayed there for a few moments, deciding how he could best help. His wife was clearly upset, and he did not want to push and upset her more.

Reece stayed downstairs, knowing that if Marjorie needed him, she would come to him, at her own pace.
He got started on dinner, making his way around the kitchen as he cooked up her comfort meal, Macaroni Cheese. It was a childhood favourite of hers, and he knew she would just need that extra bit of comfort.

Marjorie eventually headed downstairs, dressed in some pyjama shorts and one of Reece's hoodies, her body feeling slightly more relaxed.
She looked into the kitchen, seeing her husband slightly dancing to the quiet music he had on.
Reece looked up making eye contact with his wife. They stood there for a few seconds, just looking at each other, until Marjorie ducked away, heading into the living room.

Reece sighed, and finished making food, dishing it up carefully. He grabbed a glass of wine for Marjorie, leaving it all on the side as he entered the living room.
"Hey gorgeous, I've made some dinner for us, you wanna come through?" Reece spoke softly, leaning against the back of the sofa.
"What is it?" Marjorie mumbled back.
"It's your favourite, mac and cheese. And a glass of wine, is that okay?" He replies, reaching his hand out for her.
"Mhm," she hums in agreement, taking his hand and letting herself be led to the dining table.

"Here you go beautiful," Reece says as he placed her bowl and glass in front of her. He went back to grab his, and sat himself one chair away from his wife. He wanted to give her the space, and allow her to come to him.

The couple ate in silence, just giving the space for everything from the say fade away. Letting Marjorie relax.
"Gorgeous, do you want to head up to bed or watch some tv? It's up to you," Reece spoke, gathering their bowls and glasses, carrying them over to the sink. Marjorie followed, waiting for Reece to put everything down.
Once he had, she grabbed his wrists, turning him to face her.
"Hey? You okay?" He questioned, reaching his hands up to cradle her face. She reached hers up to wrap around his neck, pulling him in for a kiss.

Marjorie pulled away, resting her head on Reece's shoulder.
"Marj?"
She nuzzled her head into his shoulder, hiding her face away as she breathed in deeply.
"I'm sorry," Marjorie mumbled, barely audible, and if Reece wasn't listening out, he would have missed it.
"Hey. None of that. You haven't done anything wrong my gorgeous girl. Rough day then?" He questioned, one hand now absentmindedly stroking through her hair, the other around her waist, holding her close.
"It's been awful."
Reece just held her, feeling as her body relaxed completely into him.

After a few moments, Marjorie moved, and loosened her grip on him.
"You okay?"
"Just wanted to see your face again," Marjorie replied, one hand coming to rest on his jaw, her fingers lighting tracing the slight stubble.
"Gorgeous, that is tickling. I know, I need to shave again," Reece laughed, smiling at her.
"Yeah. I can feel it every time you kiss me. Now that is what tickles," Marjorie laughed, resting her head on his chest.

"How about, you go get changed for bed, get comfy and find something on the tv to watch, whilst I will go and shave this off?" Reece suggested.
"Yeah, that seems like a fair deal," Marjorie agreed, grabbing his hand and leading him upstairs.

They stopped outside the bathroom, ready to part for ten minutes.
"I'll be back soon as I'm done," Reece said, leaning forward to kiss her. Marjorie leaned in too instinctively, but then stopped, putting her hand on Reece's chest. "Gorgeous?"
"You can have a kiss when all that is gone. Deal?"
"Fine," he playfully rolled his eyes, turning around and heading into the bathroom.

Marjorie smiled to herself as she walked into the bedroom. Reece always knew how to cheer her up, how to make such a rubbish day, that little bit better.
She flopped down onto the mattress, not even bothering to take off her work clothes. She was exhausted, and now she was lying on the mattress, she did not want to get up.

"Gorgeous?" Reece questioned, standing in the doorway.
"Has it been ten minutes already?" She mumbled, turning her head to the side.
"Yes beautiful, but I see we did not make it very far," he laughed, making his way to the wardrobe.
"Which ones, the grey or the blue gorgeous?" He called out to her.
"Grey ones please baby," Marjorie replied, pushing herself up so she could at least sit up and face him.
"Here you go, now, I'm gonna go get mine, we will get changed and then snuggle up and watch a movie, yeah?" He explained, coming to stand in front of her, his height towering over her.
"Yeah," she replied, staring up at him. He leant down and kissed her, smiling into it. "So much better," she whispered, her fingers now tracing his cleanly shaven jawline.
"I'm glad. Now, let's get changed."

Ten minutes later, the couples were cuddled up under the covers, their bodies pressed tightly together. Marjorie looked up at Reece, who was focused on the movie, and smiled to herself. How did she get so lucky?
"Hey you," Reece whispered, finally noticing her staring.
"Hi."
"You alright? Something wrong? Oh no, did I pick the wrong movie? I just thought that because this one is one you've enjoyed before, you'd want to watch it again. I can change it, really, I'm-" Marjorie interrupted his rambling by pulling herself up to kiss him, shutting him very quickly.
"Sorry, you were anxious rambling," she said as she pulled away, settling back down into her position before.
"Sorry gorgeous. But I'm serious, what's wrong?"
"Nothing."
"The staring?"

Marjorie paused for a second, mainly for the dramatics, before speaking.
"I just really love and appreciate you baby, like a lot," she said casually, smiling as she focused back in on the movie.
"I love you too my gorgeous wife," Reece replied, rolling his eyes jokingly at her dramatics, before leaning down and kissing her cheek.

Hi everyone. It has been a good few months since a Marjoreece chapter. In all honesty, it has just been purely because I've struggled to write them, I've been finding my other book easier.
But then, I got this idea, and it was like so easy to write, and reminded me of the special place that this book holds in my heart. So here you go, a not so bad chapter. I do hope you all enjoy and love it. Ignore any spelling mistakes or any general errors, just pretend they don't exist, I will always seem to have them. I still suck at spelling.
Now, I can't promise when the next chapter will be, I'm extremely unreliable and get random little motivation bursts but then lose them quickly, but it shouldn't be as long as last time.
Thank you guys so much for the patience on this book and new updates, as always, I appreciate and love you all, look after yourselves!!
