(Marjorie's pov)
"Reece." I say, finally capturing his attention.
"Huh?" he asks, the flicker in his eyes not there anymore.
"What's wrong baby?"
"It's nothing really. I don't want to bother you with it." he says, turning his face away from me.
I stand from my desk, and walk over to his, gently gripping his chin and pulling it to face me, not letting him turn back away.
"You are not a bother darling. I want to hear every last one of your problems. I would listen for days if it meant any stress off your shoulders. You are strong for everyone else, let me be strong for you." I say, sternly but softly, and I see a small spark come back into his eyes, before fading just as quickly as it came.
"You sure? I don't want you to feel like you have to listen, and then after feel overwhelmed by it all, and I just-" I decide to interrupt, seeing as if I let this go on, we'd be here for days.
"Stop. I can manage myself, and you can never overwhelm me handsome. Please open up." I say, letting go off his chin now, giving him the choice of what he wants to do.He hesitates, before nodding his head, and turning off his computer. I raise an eyebrow, and he picks up on it quickly.
"So I can do this with no distractions, especially as the things I'm about to say, have been happening through a computer screen." he explains.
"Okay baby. What do you mean?" I question, sitting back down in my chair, turning off my computer too.
"You 100% sure?" he triple checks, and I roll my eyes.
"If I wasn't, I wouldn't be sat here. I'm here to listen, whenever you are ready. No pressure, and no judgment." I say, confirming it for him, to which I can see him relax slightly."Okay, if you're sure." I smile at him. "Why are you smiling?" he asks defensively.
"Just for comforting reasons." I say.
"Yeah right! I bet you are secretly judging me! Making fun of me!" he yells, throwing his hands up, and standing up.
"My love, no." I say, standing up as well, moving over to him, placing a hand on his shoulder.
"I don't believe you! You are so two-faced." he yells at me, smacking my hand off him.
"Baby?" I question.
"No." he responds, turning his back to me, and we both see Mia stood in the doorway."Reecey?" she questions.
"Not now Mia!" I snap at her.
"Oh please Marjorie! She is always there for me, and never judges me. So stop!" Reece turns around, yelling at me.
"Oh Reece! You big dummy! I never judged you! I smiled to comfort you, because I know it's hard for you to open up! I smiled because I love you! And I wanted you to feel comforted talking to me! I can't! You are only mad right now because you are defensive! Because you don't know how to talk about your feelings! Which is why you are fighting me! I don't take this personally, because it's not you speaking!" I yell back at him, and see it all hitting him, and him realising all the information is true. "Now I'm leaving here, run the nursery while I'm gone. I'll see you at home." I lower my voice, grabbing my things, before pushing past Mia, and leaving.(Reece's pov)
"Wha-" I mumble, confused on everything.
"Reecey?" Mia repeats.
"Mia I-" I cut myself off, sitting back down in my chair. "I don't know." I mumble, burying my head in my hands.
Mia walks over, lifting my head up,forcing me to look at her.
Tears start falling down my face, no matter how much I try to stop them.
"It's okay." Mia whispers, letting go of my face, pulling me into a hug.
"Mia I thought I-!" Char runs in, stopping in her tracks when she sees what's going on."Mia?" she questions.
"Hey baby. I'm back home." Mia says, letting go off me, turning to Char.
I look up at Charlotte, and see a sympathetic look across her face.
"What's up Reece?" Char questions, sitting down on the sofa in the office. Mia makes her way over to Char, sitting down next to her, pulling her into her lap.
"Marjoreece had an argument." Mia laughs out.
"Mia you know they hate that nickname." Char says, playfully slapping Mia's chest.
"Sorry."
"What was it about Reece?" Char asks.
"Basically, I've been upset, and Marjorie picked up on it. And then I was about to open up, and then she smiled at me. And she said it was for comfort, but I thought it was her making fun of me. So I snapped back. And then she explained everything, and I now realise I was an idiot. But Marjorie stormed out, and now I don't know what to do, because she left me in charge of the nursery." I explain, and tears roll down my face.
"Reece?" Char asks.
"Hmm?" I hum, looking up and making eye contact with her.
"Go home you big dummy. Mia can watch this place." She says, and I look to Mia.
"It means I can be with my girl. Go." Mia reiterates, and I nod, thanking them, before running out the nursery, jumping in my car, driving out the car park.
