(Marjorie's pov)
I storm out the room away from Reece, going to the spare room furthest away from him, throwing myself on the bed.
I hear him running downstairs, and phoning someone, probably Aut. I don't care.
The next thing I hear is him yelling, then a loud thump. I don't know what to do, do I go downstairs and check on him? Or leave him? I hear Aut screaming from the phone, which is not like her at all. Oh God, I probably should go down there.
I climb off the bed, quickly rushing down the stairs, stopping when I see Reece on the floor in the middle of the hallway, unconscious.
I get down the rest of the stairs, and kneel beside him.
"Autumn it's me," I say to the phone by his head.
"Marjorie! Are you okay? Is Reece okay? I'm only a few minutes away!" she talks quickly, making it hard for me to figure out everything she says.
"I'm okay. I think Reece fainted, there's a bruise already forming on his head. He must've hit the deck hard," I tell her, examining over his body to check for any other injuries.
"Okay. I'm here, let me in."
I hang up the phone and quickly stand up, unlocking the front door, before resuming the spot beside Reece.
"Hello,"Autumn calls out as she opens the door, walking in and shutting it behind her.
"Hey," I whisper, all of a sudden feeling really guilty.
"It's not your fault Marj, you need to know that."
"I know."
"Good. Right, I'm not even going to suggest trying to lift this one off the floor. We are both not strong enough for that, so instead, go to kitchen, grab some water and painkillers, along with an ice pack. Then, all we can do is wait for him to come around," she instructs, and I nod, getting up to go into the kitchen.
I grab the painkillers down, grabbing a glass down and filling it with water. I rummage through the freezer, eventually finding an ice pack and putting it on the side as well, before leaving it all there and going back to Autumn and Reece.
"I've left it all on the side, when he wakes up I'll go grab it," I say to Autumn.
"Okay, it shouldn't be too long. If it's any longer than 10 minutes I'm calling an ambulance," Autumn says.
"Yeah."
After about five minutes of me sitting next to his head, stroking through his hair, I can hear a few soft groans come from Reece.
"Hey darling," I whisper.
"Mhmmm..... Marj?" he groans, trying to sit up fast.
"Slowly Reece, you have a head injury," Autumn says, and we both helped him sit up slowly, so he is sat leaning against the wall.
"My head...." he winces in pain, holding a hand over his bruise.
"I've got it, sorry," I go to get up, but I feel a hand grab my wrist.
"Don't leave, stay," Reece says, pulling me back down.
"Okay. I'm not going anywhere handsome," I say, looking to Autumn, who nods, standing up and going into the kitchen. She brings out the painkillers and water, along with the ice pack.
"Here you go," Autumn hands Reece the painkillers and water, and he takes a few, slowly sipping on the rest of the water.
"Well done darling, this'll help the head bump," I say, taking the ice pack and holding it onto his head.
"Thanks you guys," Reece says, smiling at us.
"It's okay my love. I'm so sorry this happened," I apologise, kissing his cheek.
"No, it's not your fault. It happened, and we can't go back. But are you okay?"
"Before this starts, let's get Reece onto the sofa, somewhere more comfortable. Then you can have your private conversation, I'll leave you two to it then, knowing you're both okay," Autumn interrupts before it goes anywhere, and I agree with her.
"Come on darling, let's get you up."
Me and Autumn both take an arm, and we lift him off the floor, giving him a few moments to steady himself, before we take a slow walk to the sofa, sitting him down carefully.
"Thanks Aut," I pull her into a hug.
"No problem, it's going to be alright between two now? I don't need to expect any phone calls?" she jokes.
"Funny. Off you go then," Reece says, rolling his eyes.
"Bye you two," she says, seeing herself out the door.
"How's your head?" I question, removing the ice pack and checking it, "Let's give it a short while without the ice pack on, don't wanna burn your skin with the cold," I say, placing the ice pack onto the table next to me.
I turn back around and am swiftly pulled in by Reece, who kisses me deeply and moves me onto his lap. It takes a few seconds but I eventually melt into it like always, running my hands through his hair.
He breaks the kiss, and I smile at him, letting out a small breathy laugh.
"I'm glad you're feeling better," Reece says, tucking a piece of my hair behind my ear.
"I am. How are you? Do you feel sick or dizzy? Do I need to take you to the hospital?" I say, gently brushing my fingers over the bump that has started forming on the bruise.
"I am fine, I've said that already. The painkillers will kick in and my headache will go. I'll just have to stay awake long enough for that, then I cannot wait to sleep," he laughs.
"I don't know why you're laughing. You really scared me," I say.
"Me? I scared you?" he raises an eyebrow.
"Okay fine maybe I scared you. Still, you scared me when I came down and you were there on the floor."
"Okay that's fair enough, but can you see how scared I must've been? We were fine and talking one minute, the next thing I know you are running off and then I'm on the floor. That was scary!" he explains his side.
"I know, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you, I just needed air. I was scared, and everything was coming back to me. I freaked, and I shouldn't have. I know that you will do everything you can to protect me, I know you will keep me safe. But I worry that whilst you do that for me, you'll be careless with your own safety. I just really don't want to get you in danger, and if you're too busy caring for me that you'll miss something happening to you. I know that my step dad won't care about you, he'll just see you as an object. He won't care, if he needs to, he'd hurt you just to get to me. And I don't want to get you hurt or worse, killed. The last thing I'd want to do is put you into danger, because I love you, and I wouldn't be able to live with myself if something bad happened to you, let alone live without you," I confess to him, letting a few tears fall at the end even thinking about life without him.
"I'm so sorry gorgeous. I'm sorry that your step dad has made you feel terrified, for your life and my life. You should not have to worry about me and my safety, I will be able to handle anything. I will always protect you from him, I want you to feel safe. I know that putting myself in the way might put myself at risk, but I would also not be able to live with myself if I didn't protect you, if I didn't help you and make sure your safe. You do not have to worry about that man again, I will never let him come near you or hurt you. I love you," Reece says, gently cupping my cheeks.
I take a shaky breath in, my bottom lip trembling slightly. I can feel tears burning in my eyes, but I try and choke them back, not wanting to cry.
"Hey, hey, hey. I've got you, it's okay. You're okay, you're safe. You are completely safe okay?" Reece says softly. That does it, and I feel myself let go, as I collapse forward into Reece's chest, letting myself cry.
After I calmed down, I lift my head to look at Reece.
"Hello gorgeous," he whispers.
"I love you Reece."
"I love you too," he pulls me in for a kiss, running his hands through my hair.
"Can we watch a film? Maybe order some pizza?" I ask as I break from the kiss.
"Of course we can, that sounds great. I'll order the pizza, you pick the movie?" he says, picking up his phone.
I move myself to sit next to him, still as close as possible, and swing my legs over his. I cuddle up into his side and grab the remote, flicking through Netflix.
"Pizza is all ordered gorgeous. What have you found?" Reece questions, rubbing his hands up and down my legs.
"Nothing. I don't know what to put on," I say, handing him the remote. It takes seconds for him to find something, and as soon as he does I roll my eyes.
"You asked."
"But seriously? Mean girls? We've watched it so many times," I smile up at him.
"Comfort movie," he responds, smiling down as he kisses my lips, before we are interrupted by the door bell.
"Pizza!" I giggle, getting up and running to the door, thanking the driver and taking the pizza off his hands.
I turn around, shutting the door with my foot and walking back to Reece, pizza in hand and a huge smile on my face.
"You okay there gorgeous?"
"I've been wanting pizza for days now. I'm so happy," I smile at him, resuming the same position as before, placing the pizza on his lap but still within reach.
"I'm glad you're happy. Now we have pizza and a movie, I think that's perfect," he says, kissing my cheek.
"It really is, love you."
"Love you too."
A/N: I couldn't just leave you on that cliffhanger could I? Well maybe only for a little bit. But not for any longer than I did, I was under rules to finish it. I think I did this one okay, let me know if you think anything was missing. Also, wasn't able to proofread, so ignore any awful mistakes.
If you have anything you would like to see specifically, then I'll be more than happy, hugs drop a comment.
Other than that, I'll see you all in the next one, love you all, look after yourselves <33333
