Pat, pat.

"Daddy." The call and gentle tugging at his strong chest made Day wake up and, looking down at his chest, he saw his son Ob, had climbed on top of him. It seemed that the little boy had woken up and crawled over to him. Normally, the space Day slept in was where Brick would be, as he would sleep in the middle while Day would sleep on the edge. But due to the fact that he had a long night with Brick last night, he let him sleep on the edge to avoid being disturbed by his son in the morning like now.

"Are you awake?" Day asked, before picking up his son to lie on his chest. Ob was all smiles, even though his eyes were half-closed. The little one pressed his cheek against Day's chest. Day looked at the clock and saw that it was already 7 a.m.

"Let’s see if your diaper is wet," Day said, pulling down the waistband of his son’s pants and diaper, discovering that it was indeed quite wet.

"Papa." Ob was looking for Brick, as he usually encountered him first.

"He’s sleeping, come on, I’ll take you to the bathroom," Day said. Normally, Brick would take care of their son in the morning, but today Day wanted him to get some rest. He slowly got up, carrying Ob down from the bed.

"Papa, Papa," Ob pointed to Btick, who was still asleep.

"He’s sleeping," Day told him again. Ob looked at Brick, then brought his hands together in a prayer-like gesture before pressing them to his cheek while tilting his head, mimicking a sleeping pose.

"Sleepy," Ob said. Day smiled, amused.

"Yep, sleepy," Day responded. He went to grab a glass of water for his son to drink in the morning. Ob drank eagerly before Day took him to the bathroom to wash his face and clean his teeth. At first, Ob was not very cooperative with the teeth cleaning, but after a while, he started to get used to it.

"Oh!" Day pretended to be surprised when he heard his son pass gas. Ob giggled, so Day picked up the child’s toilet seat and placed it for Ob to sit on, knowing that it was time for him to relieve himself. Just as Day expected, once Ob was done, he changed his diaper and carried him downstairs. He hadn’t bathed Ob just yet.

"Are you awake?" Frank greeted Day as he came down from upstairs carrying Ob.

"Uncle,  Uncle," Ob called Frank, who smiled in amusement. Day greeted Frank and they talked about Phim's morning sickness as well as breakfast. Day let Ob play with Cotton since they were still indoors, and prepared breakfast for Ob and everyone else. Salmon hadn’t woken up yet, so once Day had everything ready, he let Ob have breakfast first, which Phim also came down to eat with her nephew.

"I’ll leave my son with you for a bit; I'm going up to check on Brick," Day said. He told everyone Brick looked tired, so he allowed him to sleep in.

Day went back upstairs and headed straight for the bed where Brick was still sleeping. Day sat on the edge of the bed and gently rubbed Brick's forehead before leaning down to kiss his forehead.

"Uhh." Brick stirred from being disturbed and let out a sound. Day smiled slightly.

"Brick," Day called softly. Brick gradually opened its eyes.

"Hmm?" Brick responded with a groggy voice.

"Today, just rest at home. I’ll take the kid to the shop," Day said. Brick paused for a moment before frowning slightly.

"Isn’t the kid going to be a bother?" Brick replied.

"It’s fine. You can rest. You deserve it," Day insisted, as Brick usually took care of the Ob.

"Will the kid be cranky?" Brick asked again since Ob was quite attached to Brick.

"I’ll manage. Just rest up, and also to help take care of P'Phim. Ob already had his breakfast, and I’ll let him play with the Cotton for a while before bringing him up to bathe. I’ve already prepared your breakfast; whenever you wake up, you can go eat it," Day said. Brick thought for a moment before nodding in agreement because he was indeed tired.
