"Are you going anywhere for Loy Krathong this year?" Mac asked, arriving at Brick's house with Nan. Currently, Nan and Day had taken Ob and Anda to play at the village park, while Brick was preparing dinner for his two sons, with Mac helping keep him company.
"Day said he was going to take us to Kanchanaburi. Are you interested in coming along? It happens to be on a Saturday, so Ob doesn't have to go to school," Brick invited.
"Try asking Nan, see if he wants to go," Brick suggested.
"Hmm, I'll try asking him," Mac replied.
"Come to think of it, if it were in the past, you and I probably wouldn't be here alone together like this," Mac said, chuckling.
"Yeah, that's true," Brick replied with a smile.
"By the way... have you seen Meen? I haven't seen her in a very long time," Mac asked. Even though they had apologized and forgiven each other, Mac sometimes still felt a little guilty about past events.
"She's working abroad now. By now, she's probably found a foreign boyfriend," Brick said with a smile.
"If Meen is happy in her relationship, I'll be happy. I want her to find someone good," Mac added.
"Everyone who breaks up with us does well," Brick said jokingly, trying to prevent Mac from dwelling on the past. Mac chuckled softly upon hearing this before they started preparing plates and bowls, as Neil and Nick would soon arrive with food.
"Papa, Papa!" Anda's voice boomed throughout the house, causing Brick, who was sitting and chatting with Mac on the waterfall deck, to get up and open the deck door to see.
"Yes, yes, why so loud?" Brick teased, before opening his arms to receive his youngest son, who ran into him with flushed cheeks from playing outside. Ob, meanwhile, had already gone to the kitchen.
"Water, water," Anda said, thirsty.
"Are you thirsty? I'll get you some," Brick said.
"Ob probably went to get it already," Day said. Not long after, Ob emerged, holding three cold water bottles and one plastic cup. Ob gave Day and Nan a bottle each and then handed the last one to Brick.
"Papa, can you open it for me?" Ob asked.
"Ob, you're so clever," Brick praised his son before opening the water bottle for Ob. Ob poured water into the cup and handed it to his younger brother, then drank from the remaining bottle himself. Anda drank his water thirstily until Brick had to tell him to drink more slowly.
"Are you hungry yet? Papa has prepared dinner for you two," Brick asked. Anda, having finished his water, raised his hand and gently rubbed his stomach.
"Hungry, grubble grubble," Anda said, making everyone smile.
"I'll take the boys to wash their hands first, you can prepare the food," Day said, before taking the two sons to the bathroom. Brick then prepared the food for his sons. Neil and Nick also arrived. They then served the food and sat down to eat together. Anda and Ob ate ravenously, having used a lot of energy.
"Nan, Brick invited me to go to Kanchanaburi for Loy Krathong. Do you want to go?" Mac asked.
"Hmm, I can go. Do you want to go?" Nan asked back. Mac nodded.
"Then I'll go. I can get my work done in advance," Nan said.
"What about you two?" Brick turned to ask Neil and Nick.
"I've already made plans with Niel's mother to take her out," Nick replied.
"Oh, then it's okay," Brick said with a smile.
