The Rebel Show website was as bright and vividly fabulous as it's host Rebel. And, there was a new section added to it. A small space devoted to the Teen Chat With Luci segment with a way to email questions to her that she might answer on the ten minute three time a week spot.
A.J. Norris sat cross legged on their bed staring at the site open on their laptop. They felt strangely nervous as their fingers settled on the keyboard, ready to type. Or maybe not ready to type.
They took a deep breath and exhaled it. Then they began to write.
Dear Luci ,
I'm gender neutral. At least that's what I thought I was. My dad is fire with it. At least one of them is. The other one I don't really care what he thinks about me. But my dad that wanted me and cares for me is the one I don't want to disappoint. He supports me as I am but what if I'm really something else ? What if I was wrong before? What if I'm not really gender neutral? What if I just hate being a boy? Because I do. I've never enjoyed being a boy. I've never felt comfortable in this body. This body feels so wrong. My dad is so proud of having a son. A son named after him. What will he do if I tell him I'm not his son ? That I'm really his daughter? I don't want to lose my dad. I love him.

They stopped typing and read the words slowly. Then they reread them. Should they send it? What would she say? What would Dad say ?
Aiden called from downstairs," A. J. , hurry up and get down here for breakfast. I know you don't have school today but I want to make sure you eat before I leave for work. I made waffles. Using the waffle maker Granny left us."
A.J. smiled. Their father sounded so proud of himself that he had made waffles all by himself. They really did love him so much. He sighed. That Paul guy made Aiden happy. He hadn't been happy for a long time. Gary certainly hadn't made him happy. Maybe they should give Paul a chance. A small chance.
" A.J. ! "
They sighed again. Then almost against their will they clicked send on the email to Teen Chat with Luci.
" Coming ! ," Jade Liberty Norris called back as she closed her laptop and jumped up from the single bed.
