" Mr. Mullins? ," the tall lean blond man with the confident yet also compassionate smile upon his classically handsome face asked as he approached the distressed husband who sat beside his wife's hospital bedside. Mark held Susan's limp hand firmly even as he glanced at the man with his hollowed looking face and shadowed eyes.

" Yes. I'm Mark Mullins. You're Dr. Sage. I recognized you from the website. I wasn't expecting you to come so fast. "

The man nodded as he walked over to the other side of the bed and sat down on the other chair. " Yes , sir. I'm Dr. Julian Sage. My wife Chelsea and I run the clinic in Maryland. We also have a clinic in London as well. I read your email and decided to pay a personal visit to you and your wife. I know what the doctor here told you but  , Mr. Mullins, Western medical professionals can be very conservative and overly cautious. They often run from the cases they consider hopeless. "

Mark snapped as he rubbed his wife's hand tenderly," My wife is not hopeless. She's a beautiful vibrant sensitive smart woman that I love and need. We have a son whose just a year old. Spence needs his mom. If you think she's hopeless I don't need you. "

Julian shook his head. " No , sir. I didn't say that. I said Western medicine considers cases like hers to be hopeless. I don't. My wife's sister Maeve was once a hopeless case to Western medicine. They wanted to consider her dead but her family pushed for answers and today she is doing just fine. She's certainly not dead. "

Mark closed his eyes. " I want to help my wife but I'm not a rich man. "

Julian said warmly," Let me do a physical exam and schedule some tests of my own on your wife Susan. Then we'll discuss payment. In the end I'm sure we can work out something that will benefit both of us. Trust me. "
