" Why are you still here? ," Dodie asked as she came back in the living room to find her daughter slouched on the sofa watching Destiny's Hospital and eating from a big bag of popcorn.

M.G. rolled her eyes and said casually," Chill out, old lady boomer. Oh , the boys are back from school or something. They're upstairs. Probably making meth or something knowing them. And , Granny said she had to ask Alfred and his old man if I could crash there with them all. Apparently they're staying with Uncle Alfred cause some preggos are living at their house. "

Dodie sighed. Knowing Alfred and that fat man they would say no which meant she would be saddled with the girl and her brothers. If she had to have four of them Tony was definitely adding child support onto the divorce petition. After all, she didn't have a job anymore thanks to Nigel Norland and his damn family firing her with no justification at all. She should sue. It wasn't like she was even convicted of anything. Maybe when she was mayor she could make a law banning Volkouv Enterprises from Maryland, she thought to herself.

" Get your feet off my sofa. That's genuine Italian leather you're on , you know. "

M.G. shrugged and flipped the channel to another one showing Miami Lust. " You got robbed, Dod. This is not genuine Italian leather. " Then she laughed.

Dodie narrowed her eyes and took a step towards the sofa when her cell phone rang shrilly. She snatched it from off of the end table and answered with," What now? " before she noticed it was a private number.

A  roughly spoken man's voice whispered hoarsely ," Nobody wants criminals as mayor. Drop out or everyone will know about your family connections. "

" Who the fuck are you ! ," Dodie snapped as the call disconnected.

" Testa di cazzo ! Che palle ! ," she cussed in Italian as her dark eyes blazed with fury. Nobody fucking threatened a Giadello. Nobody. Especially not Franco Giadello's daughter.
