The mayoral race in Hyattsville is really moving like a rollercoaster ride with many ups and downs. And , the primary is still months away in June of 2026.

There's a town hall meeting with the mayoral candidates scheduled at the Barton Community Center on next Monday at eight pm.

And , Buckley Van Owen's campaign manager , Jackson Holmes, has issued a statement saying that the news story about the alleged affair between Mr. Van Owen's wife and Senator Jacobs first revealed in the Washington Reign is a falsehood and incredibly fake news.

Jackson Holmes ( standing outside of the Van Owen campaign office with wind ruffled hair and sunglasses on ) : It is most definitely fake news. My knowledge of the Van Owens is that they are a very lovely and loving couple who have been married many years with two children they are quite devoted to. Mrs. Van Owen is merely very good friends with the senator. In fact, the senator is good friends with Bucky himself. They often spend holidays together at the Senator's Eastern Shore cabin. We are quite upset over these baseless allegations made by a common rag of a newspaper run by two immoral Hollywood types, Rebel and Reese Malden, with a lifestyle agenda. Rest assured, our lawyers have been in touch with the so called newspaper for an immediate apology from the reporter Scott Sands as well as a rebuttal from the paper. Thank you. "

The senator has not made a comment on the allegations as of yet. And, when called for a statement Dr. Spencer Norland - Lane merely said that he didn't wish to discuss such topics. He wants to discuss only vital issues that apply to the campaign such as his policy platform of gun control.

In other mayoral news there is also one less player in the race. In breaking news former editor of The Aura magazine Dodie Angeletti has announced she is dropping out of the race effective immediately.

Dodie ( in an audio call ) : Yes. My spirit guides actually communicated with me that running for office is not in the best interest of myself, my family or the grand universe at large. Celeste Van Owen had just departed the house for the school bus to Barrington Academy even as her parents continued to fight upstairs in their bedroom.

Buckley instinctively slapped her across the face before stepping back and stomping over to the door of their room. Then he glanced back at her with much distaste on his big broad face.
