ODDS OF LOVE : SEASON 15

Episode 4

 ( Deep throbbing bass beat plays in the background )

Three ambulances pull up in front of Hyattsville General Hospital followed by several cars with family of the victims and media reporters. 

( " Bang , Bang , Bang "  . )

Shondie Johnson opened her front door abruptly and then with Beulah Simms right behind her backed up as Detective Nate Jacks and an uniform barged inside. Jacks waved a search warrant in front of Shondie's face , barking out , " We're here looking for Tina Green. So back up or I'll arrest you and your kid. "  Beulah snatched the paper from the cop's hand and began to scan it fast. 

( " Bang , Bang , Bang ". )

Lynda Lopez , coming to you live from Hyattsville  General Hospital with new information on the Barrington Academy bus stop shootings. We have received word on the victims' identities. The two female Black teen students shot by Tina Green , who is still at large in the community , are thirteen year old Luci Moore , the transgender niece of democratic mayoral candidate Spencer Norland - Lane's husband Dr. DuBuis Lane and thirteen year old Nicole Duncan who is the niece of local up and coming defense attorney Jeremiah Duncan. Nicole Duncan herself was recently in legal trouble of her own having held hostages in the courtroom of Judge Richard Norland during the highly publicized Dodie Angeletti hit and run trial. Nicole Duncan shot and wounded Joe Jacobs in that crisis ; Joe Jacobs is the only son of Republican Senator Gregory Jacobs of Maryland. No charges were ever filed in that case.  Ironically , the judge in that case Richard Norland is also one of the three shooting victims of the A&B store robbery that Tina Green and Rona Johnson are accused of participating in. Judge Norland is also the older brother of Spencer Norland - Lane. The last victim of today's shootings is thirty nine year old former college secretary Susan Mullins who is the wife of a local barber shop owner and the mother of a young baby who was in the car at the time of the shootings.

Lynda : Mr. Mullins , how are you feeling about this tragic shooting that left your wife wounded and your son in danger ? 

DuBuis : ( stepping  between his oldest friend and his husband ) : How the fuck do you think he feels ? That's the dumbest question I've ever heard in my life ! Go away ! 

Lynda ( as Mark and his son keep running into the ER ) : Dr. Lane , how is your niece ? How do you feel right now ? 

DuBuis ( with a disgusted look on his face ) : Fuck off. 

Lynda ( turning to Spencer ) : Mr. Norland - Lane , you are running for mayor on a gun control platform. Does today's activity validate for you the need for strict gun control to prevent and ease such issues ?

Spencer : I don't care about being validated right now. What I care about is the fact that gun violence in the country is becoming a grave and deadly epidemic that is affecting not only men and women but also children. I have not just statistics on my side but personal experience. ( He slapped the side of his wheelchair. ) I have so much more personal experience. But I don't want to.... to discuss this now. My family needs me now. 

( " Bang , Bang , Bang " . )

Keisha Duncan , behind the register at her cafe , looked up and smiled as Oscar Oswell walked over to her. 

" Hey , baby , I missed you , " she said but her words began to trail off as she saw the grave expression on his plain long face. 

( " Bang , Bang , Bang " .)

Jeremiah sat in his office at Duncan and Associates reading through a case file as his door suddenly flew open and in strode one of his partners as well as his ex-wife Amanda Charm. He glanced up at her , saying , " What ? "

Amanda looked back the man she still saw as her wife Janice. The one she still loved with all her heart. And , she didn't know what to say that wouldn't hurt him right now. 

She swallowed harshly. " Jan.....Jeremiah , there's been a shooting. It's ..... Nic. " 

( " Bang , Bang , Bang ". ) 

 Joy tried to stop Faith from leaving her bed and rushing to the hospital as Olga stopped singing and cleaning in the living room to just lose herself in silence. Olga crossed herself and prayed. 

( " Bang , Bang , Bang ". )

Jimmy opened the door to his mother's house and was startled to find a devastated looking Sol standing on the porch. 

" Hey.... What's up , little brother ? , " he asked right before Sol threw himself into his arms and began to cry. 

( " Bang , Bang , Bang ". ) 

Detectives Wally Williams and Detective Nita Browne chased Tina Green through the back alley with their guns drawn. 

" Stop ! , " Williams yelled as he panted for breath. 

" Drop your weapon ! , " Browne shouted as she closed in behind the girl and Williams. 

Tina looked over her shoulder and sneered at them. " Fuck you , pigs ! " She pointed her gun and fired once more. 

Wally Williams was hit in the chest and with a sudden curse fell down to the dirty piss stained asphalt ground of the alley. 

Browne calmly fired her own weapon and watched as the young girl fell backwards with her gun finally exiting her hand. 

Then Detective Juanita Browne of the Homicide Unit ran to her downed partner and screamed. She shouted to the uniforms that then rounded the corner into the alley , " Get an ambulance ! My partner's been hit ! My partner's shot ! Officer DOWN ! "

She held an unconscious Wally in her arms and cried as she rocked him back and forth.
