Gary leaned over Ash and gently opened his mouth, sticking the thermometer under his tounge. " Stay still while it gathers your temperature." Gary muttered as he put a cool cloth on Ash's head and neck.

Ash groaned. " G... Gary......"

" Shhhhh." He muttered as he took the thermometer out. " Quiet. You need to rest. One o eight degrees is nothing to be laughing about."

Ash moaned as Gary climbed down his loft bed's ladder and grabbed something, then came back up

A second later something cool hit Ash's neck. He opened an eye to see Gary using his stethoscope on his neck.

" Oh that's not good._ he muttered as he climbed down.

He opened his bag and muttered something, then climbed back up and sat on Ash's bed. " Ash, medicine time. Open wide!"

Ash moaned. " I don't want to."

" I know buddy." Gary said sympatheticly
" But you need you strength."

" G.... Gary?" Ash asked in a watery voice.

Gary looked up from his book. " Yeah buddy?"

" My stomach hurts."

Gary’s brow furrowed in concern as he set the book down. "Where exactly does it hurt?" he asked gently, leaning closer to Ash.

Ash winced, his hand instinctively moving to his stomach. "It’s just... all over. Like, it's twisting or something," he mumbled, his voice still soft and weak. His body ached all over, and he felt so drained that even the effort to speak felt exhausting.

Gary reached over to gently press his hand against Ash's forehead, feeling the lingering warmth. "You’ve been running a fever for a while now, buddy," he said quietly. "I think that’s what's making you feel so bad." He paused, watching Ash closely. "You need more rest. Your body’s trying to fight this off, and the last thing you need is to overdo it."

Ash sighed, closing his eyes as he laid back against his pillow. "I know... but it just hurts so much. Everything feels... heavy."

"I know, Ash," Gary murmured, brushing Ash's hair back gently. "But you’ll feel better if you let yourself rest. I’ll be right here, okay? You’re not alone in this."

Ash’s eyes fluttered open, his gaze weak but filled with gratitude. "Thanks... Gary."

Gary smiled softly, trying to reassure him. "Always, buddy." He climbed back up onto the bed, adjusting Ash's pillow so that his head was more comfortable. He stayed close, keeping an eye on Ash, ready to help whenever needed.
