Dawn crossed her arms, glaring at the group of confused spectators. “Okay, someone needs to explain what is going on here!”
Paul adjusted his tie, his face a mix of embarrassment and irritation. “Yeah, because I’m not walking down any aisle!”
Izzy clapped her hands dramatically, drawing everyone's attention. “Alright, everyone, quiet! The bride and groom are ready!”
Leia skipped over to Dawn, holding a bouquet made of wildflowers, some of which still had dirt clinging to their roots. “Hewe, Aunt Dawn! You need dis!” she said, shoving the bouquet into her hands.
“Leia, sweetie, I am not your aunt, and I am not getting married!” Dawn hissed, but Izzy ignored her protests.
Meanwhile, Izzy grabbed Paul’s arm and began dragging him toward a makeshift arch that looked suspiciously like a repurposed clothesline with ribbons dangling from it. “Uncle Paul, stand here. Look dashing. Don’t mess it up.”
Paul groaned. “I always look dashing. That’s not the problem!”
Brock stood awkwardly to the side, holding a notebook and looking like he’d been roped into playing officiant. “Uh, Izzy, I don’t think this is—”
“Hush!” Izzy snapped, handing him a cue card. “Just read this when I tell you to.”
Ash and Misty exchanged baffled glances. “Is this… really happening?” Misty whispered.
“It’s Izzy. Of course, it’s happening,” Ash replied, shaking his head.
“Alright!” Izzy said, clapping her hands together. “Everyone take your places. Leia, sprinkle the petals.”
Leia gleefully skipped down the imaginary aisle, throwing flower petals into the air, most of which hit Paul in the face. Dawn shuffled forward, glaring at Izzy the whole time.
“Can we end this ridiculous charade now?” Dawn muttered.
“Nope,” Izzy said cheerfully. “Uncle Paul, Aunt Dawn, hold hands.”
“I am not holding hands with—” Paul started, but Izzy gave him a death glare that shut him up. He reluctantly took Dawn’s hand, and she sighed heavily.
Brock cleared his throat, holding up the cue card. “Uh… dearly beloved, we are gathered here today—”
“Skip to the good part!” Izzy interrupted.
Brock flipped the card, looking increasingly uncomfortable. “Uh… fine. Paul, do you take Dawn to be your lawfully wedded—”
“NO!” Paul and Dawn shouted in unison.
Izzy sighed dramatically. “Okay, fine. We’ll skip that too. Uncle Paul, Aunt Dawn, you may now kiss!”
Both Paul and Dawn froze, their faces turning as red as a Magmar. “EXCUSE ME?!” they yelled.
“Do it!” Leia cheered, jumping up and down.
Piplup, who had been sitting quietly, finally lost it and started slapping its head again. “Pip! Piplup!” it scolded, clearly done with the entire situation.
Paul looked at Dawn, horrified. “There’s no way I’m doing this.”
Dawn crossed her arms. “You think I want to?!”
Izzy sighed, hands on her hips. “You two are so dramatic. Fine. You don’t have to kiss. But at least say, ‘I do,’ and make it official!”
Paul groaned, running a hand through his hair. “Izzy, you are so grounded after this.”
