Over with Mimzy, she was at the edge of the town. Her face was tucked into her legs and she was crying into them. Daisy sat down next to her and held her close for comfort. " Shh shh shh, they're gone now. You're okay! " She said quietly while wiping the girl's eyes. Mimzy hiccuped, clutching onto Daisy's robes. This wasn't fair. She liked Halloween...the small stuff at least! Bobbing for apples, the nice costumes (that she'd see the non-monsters wear), the candy, the more pretty and friendly decorations, and things of that nature! She just couldn't handle the big scares that all the bigger monsters like. And the bigger monsters, at least the kids, teased her for it. She remembered what her Dads would tell her:" It's okay to be afraid of the big things! You're not the only one who's afraid of Halloween! "
But she had yet to meet anyone who was just like her. " I HATE HALLOWEEN! " She suddenly yelled through her cries, fully hiding her face into Daisy's chest. The Mayor sighed and looked at the duck. " ...I didn't know that the kids could be so mean! They were always so sweet to us! " Daisy mumbled while rubbing Mimzy softly. " They are! Most of the kids here are really kind and understanding because we try to make sure that we teach kids that everyone has different likes and dislikes but..." He looked over to the mean kids, " Sometimes, we have to help out a little more. " Daisy understood that completely. She met her fair share of kids...not to mention Donald. He had been that way to Mickey since they were kids and she and Minnie had been trying their best to help him see his error.
" I...I want m-my daddies...I wanna go h-home, please. " She sniffled. " Where are they? We'll take you right to them! " Daisy said while helping the little one up. She pointed to the town. " They're h-helping set up the-the party with all the other ad-dults. " She explained. And so, with another wipe of her eyes and a big hug, the three made their way back.
They were just a good walk away from being back in the middle when they saw Donald walking up. Mimzy hid behind Daisy, Daisy got ready to keep some sort of peace and Franken-Pete felt just the same but when Donald came over, he didn't seem all too ready to make fun or be a bother. He looked really guilty about something which surprised the two. When he walked over, his gaze went to Mimzy but then switched to the two adults. " ....I wanted to say that I was sorry. " He managed to say out loud. His pride was taking a beating from this but his consciousness had taken a beating too and it seemed to have a stronger grip on him. Both looked at each other.
" You wanted.." Started Mayor Franken-Pete,
" ..to say..." Added Daisy,
" ...y...you're sorry? " Finished Mimsy.
" What? Is there an echo in this town? " He wanted to ask but he was already in deep water with himself...and someone else so he held his tongue and merely nodded sullenly. All three parties were surprised at him, Daisy especially. Mimzy peeked from behind Daisy and looked up at Donald. He looked at her with a knotted feeling in his stomach that he only felt when he was frightened but when she gave him a small smile, it soon found itself back to its normal self.
