Octo-Pete had been swimming around the sea in a frantic manner. You'd think he'd be bothering the gang about keeping things neat and tidy and " Make sure that goes there! " or " Don't drop that, please! " or a million other micro-managing sayings but he was too busy worrying over a speech he had to give out. Well, the speech itself didn't have to be so long but he figured that royalty would like such grand things. All of history that he had read and the movies he had seen always showed those scenes of hour-long speeches. He tried to think of something but his mind was blank. " Sea Foam! Why can't I figure this out?! " He muttered to himself, pacing back and forth in the mouth of a sea cave. It was just a swim away from the main party area but it still made him anxious." It's just one little speech...to a royal family...who will be watching your every tentacle for a mistake...oh, who am I kidding? I'm going to be a disaster! " He groaned, leaning on the wall with a sigh. At this rate, he wouldn't even be able to speak without tripping over his own words. " You don't know that just yet! " Said a voice from above. Startled, he looked up to see Ariel! She had a small frown on her face while she swam down to meet the octopus. He snorted. " I do know it! I can't even figure out a simple ' Hello! ' for the speech! " Groaned Octo-Pete while hiding his face in his hands. Ariel's tail suddenly shimmered and became a different colour, showing that she was a bit upset at his self-doubt..but then her tail quickly shimmered silver and she did a backflip filled with joy.
" Jumping Jellyfish! That's it! " She cried out. Octo-Pete looked from behind his fingers. " What's it, young lady? ...was your tail always silver? " He asked while admiring her tail. She shook her head. " It was green but it changes colour whenever I feel a biiiig emotion! Right now, I'm excited because I have an idea! I'll help you with your speech! " She cheered, surprising him. " You'd do that for me? " He asked. Ariel nodded, flicking her wrist. " I love helping people! And I heard that you went aaaaaalll out for the party and you deserve some help. " She said while grabbing a piece of seaweed for the two to write on. " We'll have you ready in no time! Trust me! " She beamed.
" ...and it's with the greatest pride and pleasure that I welcome you to our home! Here is to many years of friendship and solidarity! " Finished Octo-Pete. Ariel clapped and cheered while he took a bow. He felt so much pride welled up in his chest as well as a sense of peace knowing that he had finally gotten something written down. " That sounded amazing! " Said Ariel while going in for a high five. " I'll say! The Princess will love it! " Chimmed in another voice. The two looked up to see Funny projected on the side of the cave right next to them. " Funny! " Smiled Octo-Pete. Ariel raised a brow. " That's not Funny! Funny's a mermaid! " She said while gesturing her tail. Funny laughed, poofing off of the rock and into his mermaid form. " Someone can be more than what they seem! " He teased while the girl stared in amazement!
There were trumpets heard from the main area and the three looked over. Oh, the party was starting!! Octo-Pete's tentacles suddenly twisted and he looked extremely nervous but Ariel took his hand gently and smiled. " We practiced the whoooooole time. You know it forwards, backwards, sideways and upside down, " She giggled, " You got this! " Funny nodded, winking. " You've always done a great job announcing before! Today will be no different, I promise. " He grinned, starting to swim towards the celebration. Ariel followed suit, keeping Octo-Pete's hand in hers. She nodded for him to follow her and, although he hesitated, he nodded back at her and swam. When they finally made it, a red crab swam up them all, he looked just as stressed as Octo-Pete.
" Sebastían! " Ariel smiled but he didn't seem so happy. " Ariel!, " He cried out in a thick Jamaican accent, " Girl, where have you been?! " She giggled nervously, scratching her arm a bit. " Ah, well, helping others and exploring! " Sebastían merely sighed and looked to the others. " Ah, excuse my tone, dis girl will wander off to just about anywhere! " He said which made Funny giggle. " Reminds me of a friend of mine who used to do that. " His gaze went towards his castle before he looked back to the crab. " Come on, deh King is waiting for us! " Said Sebastían, waving for her to follow. Both Octo-Pete and Funny looked to each other with a surprised look. " The King? " They both said at once. Ariel nodded, laughing. " He's my Daddy! " She explained. Both Funny and Octo-Pete seemed to suddenly lose colour.
" YOU'RE THE PRINCESS?!? " They cried out and she laughed again. " Someone can be more than what they seem, remember? " She teased while swimming off. The two looked at each other but started laughing when they saw how pale they looked which, funny enough, returned them back to normal. " You got this, " Funny said while hugging the announcer, " The Princess and I believe in you! " and, with that, he swam off to meet with his friends who were sitting near the back. When he got on stage, he felt himself grow nervous again but he looked to the back and saw Ariel. She waved encouragingly and gave him a thumbs up. A wave of confidence washed over him and he huffed with determination.
" King Triton of Atlantica, his wonderful public, and friends from all over! I want to thank you all for coming to our welcoming party, " His eyes locked onto Ariel's, " of Princess Ariel! "
